Forster 7 some good saves but some bad moments

Porro 6 some good flashes and decent defending but in a poor defence
Dragusin 6 a few good blocks/challenges but badly exposed on the ball
Davies 7 I thought he actually did well, lack of pace but composed
Gray 6 lack of pace exposed but did well considering its not his position

Bissouma 7 some good bits, some bad bits, only one willing to bring the ball out at times
Maddison 5 really poor, couldn't get to the pace of the game
Bergvall 5 not at this level, improved 2nd half with a more solid midfield

Johnson 6 good assist but he really needs to learn to dribble round a player
Lankshear 5 red and was poor aside from his goal
Son 5 looked as bad as anyone

Subs
Bentancur 9 MOTM absolutely class, only player who didn't give away the ball
Kulusevski 6 lots of effort but didn't come off for him
Solanke 7 well taken goal and made a difference
Sarr 6 pretty anonymous

Some generous scores there.

I voted Hodor.

Kept us in it with some big saves, one dogdy catch though.

First half was awful, second half Bents was super, biss played so much better with him and solanke too.

We played better when we had 10 men.

LOL at someone calling Foester, Hodor - I'm nicking it!

What the hell was up with that pitch? Every time the ball bounced it would completely kill the ball.

Game was there for the taking, but there was a bit too much inexperience on the pitch for a game like this. At one point I thought we were going to get hammered by 6+ goals

Bissouma for me. Ran himself into the ground and was still going strong at the end. Broke their press more than anyone else. Bentancur was quality when he came on.

Dragusin Maddison bergvall and son were absolutely shocking
Thought biss played well, subs made a huge difference, don’t think in 45 years I have seen us give the ball away so much

Maddison was pretty trash.

He needs to start doing a bit more to impose himself on the game. A bit patchy at the min.

Strangely, I thought he started as bad as many others, and gave the ball away too many times. But the reverse of that, he totally ran the 2nd half for us.

I thought Sonny looked like he still had the sulks after his early sub on Sunday. Shocking tonight. And madders even worse. Bergval totally out of his depth. Needs games.
Positives were Biss, Bents, kulu and big Dom

Biss MOtM for me, Bentancur a close second.

Really tough test for our youngsters today and not helped by a number of senior pros. Maddison probably had his worst game for us, Son was poor, Bergvall couldn’t find any passes and the two centre halves were all over the shop.

tough day at the office but last half an hour was a big improvement. Silly from Lankshear to get sent - Really pleased he got his goal though.

on to Sunday now COYS

The disappointing thing tonight is the experienced players who did not stand up to lead the team at all. Specifically Son, Maddison and Bissouma, the latter of whom improved immensely after subs were made that put less pressure on him to lead. Funny, that.

The kids will have learned a lot from playing in this atmosphere win or lose, and Ange will have even more information on who in this squad he can trust.

Bentancur MOTM by a distance for me, the one who really took charge after he came on.

Harsh on Bissouma. I think having two very lightweight midfielders alongside him who consistently gave the ball away did him zero favours. As soon as we shored it up with Sarr and Bentancur he looked miles better.

I thought Sarr and Bentancur made us look so much better.

Bents wanted to win the battles, Sarr wanted to make things happen. They just bought intent to the team.

On a night where you expect some nerves from the youngsters, it was especially disappointing to see Son and Maddison fail to do the basics.

Really poor from them

I thought Bissouma struggled most of the game but he grew into it and was on fire that last 15-20 mins.

Congrats to Gray though, crazy tough ask for him today and he kept at it. I think there's only striker and goalie left on his position bingo card for the season now.

Bissouma was my MOTM. As for Porro and dragusin they were exceptional at being shit.
