Romero for me, followed by Porro. There were times when Romero took the ball from Calvert Lewis and made it look like takng candy from a baby. Read the game well but made a couple of silly mistakes with his passing.
Considering his lack of pre season he was very impressive.

Big shout out Odobert too. Genuinely a threat and will tear some defenders a new one over the course of the season. Despite being a youngster, the lad he was playing against today is the fastest the coaches at Everton think they have ever had

Not sure why Johnson looked so poor In a convincing 4-0 win. Was so shocked he didn’t come off to be honest.

The team were all pretty good. Odobert looks precisely what we didn't have, Romero MotM for me. After being responsible for dropping 2 points last week that was the performance you want to see. VDV is a cheat code, Son and Madders looking sharp. One of Biss' best performances for some time.

Clean sheet, 4 goals, totally in control bar about 5 mins at the end of the first half. Minutes for Richy, Wilson, Gray and Lucas.

Good stuff.

Everyone was quite poor the first half. Silly mistakes all over the place. Second half a bit better, but not much. Still we win 4-0. This performance against a better side and we're fukd.

Madders most solid overall of the lot. My MOTM.

Ideally, I'd cherish the complexities of the beautiful game, weigh up different players' competing demands to be man of the match, and quietly assess the important actions in attack, midfield and defence. I'd take into account the fact that we had the majority of the possession against a very poor team, and then sagely make a choice.

However, Micky van de Ven rampaged up the pitch like an absolute nutter to set up our fourth and I'm a relatively simple soul, so, you know what, that's good enough for me.

A day of comebacks. Bissouma after his balloon. Romero after his error the other night. Son after being written off again, and Mickey who looked fcked just beforeHT then sprints the length of the field surely with one of the best assists you’ll ever see.

We somehow scored from a corner (most of them were terrible) and somehow didn’t concede from one either!

Really encouraging debut from Wilson.

Team effort - only Johnson below bar.

Maddison for me, didn't stop, involved in pretty much everything.

It makes a nice weekend when we win!

Romero after his error the other night.

Despite goal and some good blocks, especially in the 1st half Romero made couple of very bad passes and had few other rather weak moments defensively. Didn't cost tonight, but needs to improve or it will cost.

Generally good 1st half and easy 2nd.

Van De Ven looked to have a bad injury, played through it, mopped up everything then that assist, machine.

Bissouma close 2nd, best game for us, spraying passes I didn’t know he had in his locker, played really well today and I say that as someone who always thought he was overrated.

Considering the circumstances of having to really prove himself after letting himself and others down, Bissouma gets it for me. Thought it might have just been his best performance in a spurs shirt.

My ratings for today:

Vic - 7 - pretty solid and looking a bit more confident with set pieces (even if the team isn't yet)
Porro - 7 - now one of our most consistent players
Romero - 7.5 - typical determination for his goal, good overall performance but a bit sloppy on the ball at times
VdV - 8.5 - best player on the park today, even without THAT run & assist
Udogie - 7 - very solid without being spectacular
Biss - 8 - composed and looked more like his early season self from last year (though still with some positioning issues), plus what a hit
Maddison - 7.5 - so much more involved than post-injury last season involved and back to making us tick. I think a goal will do him a world of good to kick on even more
Kulu - 7.5 - good work to create the chance for Biss and worked as hard as ever. His positioning in the middle should improve as he plays there more
Johnson - 6 - not the awful outing that lots are crying about, but he can do much better. Made some good runs and his pressing was improved. Crossing not as effective as it can be.
Sonny - 8 - bit of a strange one - two goals but far from being at his most dangerous over the 90 minutes. But loved his goals from a hard press and lovely 'meg.
Wilson - 6.5 - exciting first 15-20 mins and then faded. Gives us a different option wide and we love a player who looks to run at defenders. He should have a decent impact mostly as a sub this year

Subs all did fine.

Ange - 7.5 - still lots of work to do, particularly defensively, but you can't argue with the result and we need to keep remembering he's only one full season in.

Yep agree with all this, although I thought Son was quite good even without his goals.

VDV clear MOM.

The Maddison, Johnson Kulusevski link up for Bissoumas goal was lovely.

A bit sloppy and slow at times, and we struggled with set pieces but other than that a good day at the office.

It was good, but not quite Jan Vertonghen.

Agree with all except Odobert….. I thought he had a really good debut and was much better than Johnson
