Son is at his best when given a free role upfront. When both Kane and Moura are up there, you can see him becoming a little bit lost. I would play him either without Kane or without Moura.

Last night in the closing 15 minutes I saw the Harry Kane of old. Twisting in the box and very little backlift to fire ferocious shots on goal..and on target too. And being a bit selfish too. I miss that and I hope hes back. We need his strength in that kind of play. If he doesn't show that strength he might as well sit on the bench.

Look, now that the dust has settled and we have basked in the win, can we now please just accept that we will win the league this season. Sheesh.

Well done to all.

And especially well done to Brighton for playing Chas & Dave at half time and I just want to say I love Chris Hughton. A proper Spurs man through and through.

Hope Brighton stay up.

If Kane had simply touched the ball to Lamela in that last play instead of shooting straight at Brighton's keeper, the match would have ended 3-0 instead of 2-1.

But I guess is good to see Harry getting involved up front once again.

Gazzaniga - 7 - A solid game. Good feet. Shame Rose went MIA in the last minute for their goal as he deserved a clean sheet.
Trippier - 6 - Didn't contribute offensively as much as he can, but think he was more disciplined with Moura and Son occupying the flanks.
Toby - 8 - Several really good blocks and interceptions when they got 2 v2 or 3 v 3 in that 15 minute shaky spell middle fo the 2nd half.
Vertonghen - 7 - Looked solid.
Rose - 7.5 - Wanted to attack, must get annoyed when players don't pass to him when well placed. After the 2nd goal he went too gung-ho though.
Dier - 6 - Seemed to control the midfield for 90% of the match with Dembele. But he remains too slow and passive with the ball, and passes sideways or back too often which kills our fluidity.
Dembele - 7 - Was up for the physical battle and played some decent vertical passes with a bit more urgency than he has been doing recently.
Lucas - 6 - His second touch is increasingly too heavy, I initially thought this was deliberate to suck defenders in, but I think it's more to do with carelessness.
Eriksen - 6 - Always has a slow start to the season, there are always calls to drop him on here in Sept/Oct, then he increasingly becomes our most important player through to April.
Son - 5 - Understandably not consistent yet.
Kane - 6 - Signs he was actually trying to do what he does when playing well. He increased his movement and I think he must realise that he is at his most dangerous when he is on the move. Other days he coudl have had a hat trick, and it's a shame that he didn't bury his missed one on one that led immediately to their goal. I would have put my house on him to score that last year, but this time I expected him to miss.

Lamela - 8.5 - He simply has to start. He presses more, he plays between the lines, and he links our ponderous defensive midfielders with our attacking players
Dele - 7 - When he came on after two touches I can see how much we've missed him. Another one who links defence with attack.

Dier/Rose/Dembele - Have been awful this season. Yesterday they weren't.

Gazzaniga - Better than Vorm. Still want Lloris back ASAP though.

Lamela - Made the difference. Deserves a start.

Kane - Working his way back to form.

Son - Needs a holiday.

Because he wasn't the best player for Spurs, that's literally what MOTM means :woot:

It's also most impact. If you can't say the defence looked steadier than it did with Vorm then you watched a different game. If that was Lloris in goal, the "Lloris calms the defence" claims would have been out.

Ok but not MOTM though.
