Hugo - still a class keeper
Aurier - Christ on a bike. Our whole attack is based on getting him into crossing positions. And we thought kyle Walker couldn’t cross a ball
Toby -
Jan - the Belgium lads solid
Davies - looking more and more championship journeyman with every game
Sissoko - sigh
Winks - there used to be a footballer over there
Ndombele - there might be a footballer over there
Lamela - i have often defended the guy, godawful today...beat three players...then get dart-itis....the yips
Lo Celso - poor. Needs to be behind a strker central or just sub
Bergwijn - did he play?
Kane - win some headers Harry...make life harder for the centre backs
Son - isnt as good as he thinks he is.

For me, the main problem was that the off the ball movement, in attack, was non existent. Added to some dreadful passes into no mans land. It meant noone ever got in a decent position.

Trying to take a few positives, I thought Winks looked better and we didnt miss Dier too much in central defense..... davies was industrious.

Organised in defending, utterly woeful in attack.

I think this group of players lacks what it takes to go forward. Overhaul incoming, financial climate depending.

Exactly this - I don't recall ever seeing our players be so shocking going forward and with so little movement.

The one moment that epitomises it was when Aurier received the ball in acres of space on the right, and instead of charging forward he cut back and passed it backwards. It's worth another look to see how shit it was.

Hugo MOM. Only really did one thing, but that was more than most. He managed to stop an utter shitshow from somehow being worse than it actually was.

Well, it seems like we are getting worse by the minute. I know there are a lot of folks who want to pin the blame on Jose, but I'm just not seeing it as completely his fault. What I'm seeing is a group of players who could give less of a shit right now. All limited in terms of commitment, focus and endeavor.

Lloris - 7 - for pulling off a competent save

Aurier - 5 - was okay defensively and a liability offensively. again.
Toby - 7 - He was very solid defensively. But couldn't hit a long ball to save his life. Then again, you need willing runners.
Verts - 7 - credit where due. the old man put in a good shift, i thought
Davies - 7 - same can be said of the boy-o

Winks - 6 - he was there. reliable. the epitome of 'unspectacular'.
Lo Celso - 5 - bad day in the office, not helped by an injury.
Sissoko - 5 - okay... hear me out. not saying he is to blame, but then again i don't think it's a huge coincidence, that ever since he has been a regular starter (going back to Nov 2018), we have stagnated. he has come to represent everything that is wrong with this team. scared of the ball. clumsy, unfocused and prone to bouts of extreme idiocy.

Lamela - 4 - horses ass all game long. always holding on the ball for too long. and then makes boneheaded decisions.
Bergjwin - 5 - has clearly caught the indifference bug going around the team.
Kane - 4 - very fed up with his laziness and lethargy. doesn't looks like he's trying anymore. on present form, i'd gladly take Ings over him. don't get me wrong... a fit and motivated Kane is eons better than Ings at his best. but considering present form, if you had a choice on sunday between playing kane or ings, who would you choose?

SUBS:

NDombele - 6 - he showed a lot more promise then all of our other midfielders. would help if he had players around him who would make the occasional chuffing run.
Son - 4 - patheticaly weak at times. no longer willing to find space. no longer able to take players on. no longer does he play with gleeful aplomb. never thought I'd say this... but our sonny just doesn't seem to give two shits.

Jose - Geez. I dunno. I have a hard time putting the blame for our wretchedness at his doorstep. he has inherited a team filled to the brim with players who have no fire in their belly. no will to go the extra distance. no one willing to throw their body on the line. and i don't know how he can motivate them. i hope that he will give some of the fringe players more game time in our last few games. as we have nothing to play for now. time to take a proper look at Skippy, Sess, Fernandes, Ndombele and potentially Cirkin too.
The one knock I will give Jose, is that he keeps going back to the well and gives a free pass to the likes of Aurier, Sissoko and Lamela. I'm sorry, but that sends the wrong message to the lads who might be trying their heart out in training. time to go full Poch and throw the baby out with the bathwater... as he did half way through his first season.

Harry Kane - 1.

The only reason he gets 1 is because he made some clearances in the first half.

He can excuse it with lack of service, which is valid, but he didn't make a single run all game. He didn't try to get beyond the defenders, didn't try to pull them out of position, didn't really do anything at all.

Plus, why is a bloke, with one deflected free kick goal 5 years ago, our de facto free kick taker?

I dont think Kane has managed to even get a free kick in goal in that time.

The fact he still grabs the ball and takes them is some squad hierarchy bullshit that should be stamped out.

Surely a lo Celso, son, or Tanguy can hit a better one than than. At least give them a chance. Kane is literally the worst free kick taker I have ever seen.
This is so spot on about Kane! I really grimace when this kind of hierarchy thing occurs, when he grabs the ball like demanding he takes the freekick and no one opposes, and when he gets an automatic start despite playing so so poorly and not playing his role as a striker.

This stinks, and i hate it!!

It’s very difficult to play on the counterattack when the default passing option is backwards. It’s also more difficult when Kane and co don’t make any useful runs and the team as whole can’t pass the ball( is xcept backwards)

these two moments sum it up:
39th minute Lloris collects the ball from a Bournemouth free kick passes out toSissoko wide left who burst into the Bournemouth half, when challenged he passes the ball inside 4 passes later it’s back with Loris!
Five minutes later Lo Celso breaks down the right channel , draws players and then passes to Aurier who has the run on the full back. What’s Aurier do? Stops and passes back; move breaks down. That was the constant feature of Aurier, he never once attempted to take on their full back.

The whole team is loath to either pass the ball forward or take a man on. I gave MOM to NDombele for the simple fact he didn’t seem to get the memo and kept trying to pass the ball forward at every opportunity. It didn’t always work but it did inject some positivity into our play. He has to start on Sunday. If we start then in the same passive negative way as we did today we wil get humiliated.

And please no Lamela start. I’ve never seen a player so one footed which added to his reluctance to pass to the ball makes every attack he’s involved in break down. Alsoin a NLD his reckless tackling and hot headed ness is a red card waiting to happen.

Lloris deserves some credit for ensuring we got a point, Ndombele improved us a bit when he came on, other than that the rest of them including VAR were sitting on their lazy arses at Bournemouth beach with their buckets and spades for all the good they were.
Edit - VAR did at least come back from the beach after scoffing it's fish and chips to spare our blushes by correctly ruling out their late
goal

When 2 of your midfield 3 are average, at best, its no surprise that we don't create a lot. That said, there's a distinct lack of effort and quality all round at present.

Replacements for Winks and Sissoko are an absolute necessity as far as I'm concerned.
