I was seriously wondering if i was watching a different game until i read your comment. Seeing the amount of poor marks and continual negativity aimed at Lucas has really got me wondering.

I thought he was excellent today and my man of the match. He was a constant threat and competed and worked and tracked back. I lost count of the amount of key passes he made. Yes there were two examples of things that people criticise him for on here but they were vastly outweighed by the amount of really good things that he does.

You can keep leaving him out of your match line ups but JM picks him time and time again and I can't see that stopping any time soon and rightly so.
People have made up their minds about Lucas and overlook hes been playing completely out of position for months, he was very good today and so was Dav another one a few have written off. Son was good I felt, put in a shift, and when it mattered he counted. Didn't the previous 3-4 misses affect him and that it the sign of a great player, to think some advocating he be sold.

The one massive take away i got from this game was Bergwijn's ability on the ball/vision. This guy reminds me a lot of Mane when he first got to the F*** Liverpool. His vision to see passes/make passes for a winger are very very good for his age. If he can get his shot going (i know he had the goal against city but it's only been 2 games) the sky is the limit

Lloris - 6 still needs to shake off some rust from missing so much time
Aurier - 7 was above average/decent other than first 10 minutes
Sanchez - 7 Solid
Alderweireld - 7 wasn't at fault for the OG, Lloris should've come out, great goal
Davies - 7 had a great goal line block, also didn't hear much of his name which as the defensive fullback in our system is fine
Dier - 5 he got a nice bit of cardio I guess
Winks - 7 man his form under Mou has been really good, might not be the best defensively but im glad he isn't just a pass sideways machine anymore
Bergwijn - 8 Man is this guy good. If he continues to develop we might (very unlikely) have a Mane on our hands
Dele - 6.5 created/had a lot of shots today but was very selfish
Son 7, without the goals would prob be a 5 but he did get 2 goals so can't complain hahah
Lucas 7, great workrate, showed his ability to pass a couple of times instead of trying to dribble through the whole team today

Lo Celso 7.5, guy is the business
Gedson 7, promising, luckily we got another year to see what he can do.
Vertonghen 10, his ability to eat up clock in that substitution was upper echelon

Sonny(6) is a funny one , but he 's getting goals so... He really doesn't like physically challenging defenders . His final goal was typical for me . Long ball and he gambles , as he always does , that the defender will muck-up and doesn't challenge . The one in 50 chance of the defender making a huge error suddenly came up and he was through on goal .
I think he's terrified to make a tackle after the Gomes incident. You can tell there's a confidence issue too at the moment which hopefully the last goal yesterday will help with.

Disagree with a lot of the ratings for Dier.

I actually thought he played pretty growing into the game. He made some good recoveries in defence when our CBs were exposed and played some decent passes forward. We looked better with Lo Celso for certain, but that doesn't mean that Dier had a bad game.

I was really impressed with Bergwijn, he seems to have a splitsecond of extra thinking time on the ball that great players do, and he often instinctively does the right thing with the ball. That's a skill that many players don't have, and I think it'll be incredibly useful for us - both Moura and Son are incredible players but do so more through workrate and technique than the instinctual stuff - the thought that Bergwijn is so good at this even before he gets to know his teammates is very exciting.

Elsewhere on the pitch, I thought Winks did really well and Aurier was pretty good. Toby was unlucky with the first goal, Hugo really needed to be more decisive. Made me feel like we missed a trick not getting Grealish, he's got a lot about him.
