Equaliser should not have happened as it was a goal kick and that could change to whole complexion of the match. If we scraped to half time in the lead, who knows. The second goal was down to Bissouma again, losing the ball in a dangerous position, while Porro is way up the pitch followed by Dragusin not getting across to cover quick enough, then a nasty bounce on the shot.
The annoying thing is arsenal weren’t even that good. I can only remember two saves that kinsky had to make. The lack of effort and football intelligence from the likes of Kulu, Johnson, Son Sarr and Bissouma was shocking, even solanke was terrible today.

Bergvall and Gray were great even though the nervousness caused by Kinsky’s over confidence crept into Gray a bit. Spence tried hard and did ok.

Right to the end we did everything at walking pace.

Hard watch that.
We were poor, very poor for much 9f the match.
Same as most have said, Gray, Spence and Bergvall did well. Spence edged it for me.

Slightly harsh on Kinsky but he nearly cost us with how he seemed to want time he didnt have and also being blamed for not saving their winner. I think he saves it but for the ball bouncing up and over his glove.

Son was a disgrace, the captain and supposed leader of the team repeatedly trying to con free kicks by throwing himself to the ground when in possession and as a result giving them the ball back cheaply. Like it or not, that sets a tone

Bergvall, Spence and Gray were excellent in that order. Porro isn’t very good, Son needs a rest from the team.
Very young but I’d like to see Sarr, Gray and Bergvall in midfield.
a lot of work to do but too many players out to be too critical.
Would prefer to see a leader in the d midfield to accompany Gray and Bergvall that’s not Sarr who I think is generally poor

Gray for me with Bergvall and Spence next… Son should not be anywhere near the starting line up

I know Son scored but very difficult to make an argument for not dropping him to the bench for the foreseeable. He’s been really poor by his own usually high standards.

Bergvall MOTM. Gray close second. Spence good again.

Going through that list, I've realised tonight that I'm really starting to dislike a lot of our players.

That should never be the case for our own team. Says a lot about the squad.

Spence for me. He had Sterling in his pocket and was always trying get forward and create something. He was closely followed by Gray and Bergvall. Gray at 18 is already some player with ice in his veins. Bergvall always trying to create something although he sometimes lets his enthusiasm get the better of him.

Embarrassing that in a NLD it’s the youngsters who turn up. In the first 15 minutes when we were under the cosh I didn’t see one hard tackle on their lot. Disgraceful to go into a NLD at their place and early in nobody is making them know that we’ve come for a battle. Gabriel maybe an hole but I wouldn’t mind at least one player in our team who showed his same level of passion and desire.

In the last 10 minutes or so the lack of urgency and desire was dreadful. Porro had 2 chances to put a decent ball in the box and blew both of them. Kulusevski had an opportunity but refused to use his right foot - nothing new there. Johnson put a good cross in but apart from that was playing his role of the Invisible Man again. Son is not a leader and his best days are behind him. Doesn’t deserve a starting place.

Richy did more in his cameo despite being injured for a period and this being his first match back

Call me nuts but I actually think Son did ok with tracking back and forcing a goal. He tired and that is expected of a wide forward at 32.
You need to watch him off ball more then.

He has this habit of not tracking to position fast enough and then following the ball on a delay when it’s passed meaning that he neither blocks off the passing lane nor gets tight enough to a player. There’s a great example about 10 minutes into the game yesterday where Arsenal are building out from the back, ball goes over to their right hand side, Son is slow to red the initial pass and then he follows the ball slowly enough that the player has the option of either making a pass inside, making a run or laying it off. Basically his defensive pressing is poor most of the time.

Gray will struggle just as much as Bissouma or Bentancur or Rodri or Busquets in this team.
I think you're right. The longer this goes on, it has become more apparent that the injuries and lack of a good RW or #6 are just masking the fact that:

- This system is so demanding that teams must have a Man City-like budget/squad, or only play once a week,

Or

- The system has been figured out by the rest of the league, which renders it kind of useless if there is no plan B.

Either way, we're kinda fucked. I don't want Ange to leave (particularly as I'm an Aussie) but I can't see this getting any better.

These things are not mutually exclusive…
