My prediction was wrong because no way in the current climate did I think that we would draw much less win the North London Derby.

Saying that our performance was still poor, only marginally better than Bournemouth's.

On the other hand we beat the Scum!! COYS!!

My MOTM undecided at the moment as there are a few genuine contenders, but I may go for Toby!

Center backs solid, nearly faultless
Full backs piss poor

Sons decision making 90% so poor, still a goal and an assist.
Lucas and Sissoko, solid working effort
Winks and Lo Celso, neither are classic DM, but both were stuck into the game
Kane, clearly not at his best, but we play so little to his strenghts.

Good win, one of the better performances because Arse's defense has always their shit moments.
Overall still not happy with the style, could have lost it easily too and we wouldnt be able to complain.

MOTM Toby

We weren't really troubled that much and we created far more dangerous situations than Arsenal did. Deserved win

I think it’s a bit harsh to call that marginally better than the Bournemouth performance.

We had significantly more chances in this game - most came from defensive errors on Arsenal’s part, but Moura still dug out least two clear opportunities for Harry.

Centre backs looked a lot more solid and more industry in midfield than Bournemouth too, albeit the fullbacks let us down yet again today.

Lucas my MOTM.

Lucas energy was important, Son with assist and goal, solid at the back from Toby and Sanchez

MOTM: Sissoko. He does not get tired. His ability to dribble out of trouble a few times, get back to save Aurier from being one on one with Tierney but also drop into midfield to save Wink's sorry ass.

Sanchez/Toby were good but not put under as much pressure as previous games. Mostly due to Arsenal's poor passing.

Son/Kane could have added 2-3 more goals but both were terrible with decision making today.

Lucas - Best LB playing today. He put in a lot of effort on defense but then had energy to start some breaks. One leading to the winning corner.

Winks/GLC - Did they even play the second half?

Lloris - Big save on Auba. About the only thing I can remember him having to do.

Aurier was a straight dumpster fire.

Good to see Kane making a lot of clever runs, really should of had two or three.

Lucas my motm, best performance from him since Ajax.

Son doesnt look fit and his decision making was baffling.

Solid defensively other than Lacazette lashing in an unstoppable howitzer after an Aurier mistake (double mistake if you count the failure to win the 50-50 after his heavy touch). Thought the team was pretty solid but looked very leggy 2nd half, and JM clearly set us up not to lose rather than to win second half, which was disappointing especially with Lamela, Bergwijn, Ndombele and Skipp all offering fresh legs from the bench. Still, North London is ours! Classic Mourinho snatched win. Not as enjoyable as the Poch era wins where we out-thought and out-fought them with quality goals, but North London is (still) ours!

Lloris 7
Aurier 5
Sanchez 7
Alderweireld 8 (probably MOM as faultless defending and the winner)
Davies 7
Sissoko 6
Winks 6
Lo Celso 7
Moura 7.5 (extra .5 for effort)
Son 7.5 (extra .5 for goal)
Kane 7

Good team performance, way more threatening up top. We have to sort out the full back positions in the transfer window .

Hard to pick MOM today honestly. A few great performances:-

Son - goal and an assist and gave them a lot of problems today. Looking like he’s getting back to his old self.
Lucas - fair play to him, didn’t stop running. One of his best games in a while.
Toby - goal plus strong at the back. Really good game from him.
Sissoko - great game today. I’m not always a fan but he played out of his skin.

Everyone else:-
Lloris - played well. Couldn’t have prevented the goal.
Aurier - first half awful. Better second half.
Sanchez - looked strong at the back. No complaints.
Davies - tricky one. Does lots well but then lots of passes to the opposition. He’s had better days but I can’t question his effort.
Lo Celso - not his best game. Things didn’t quite come off for him.
Kane - annoyed me at the end when he shot rather than passing. Clearly gets annoyed when he feels people should pass more. I still feel him and Son need to figure each other out in the Jose world.
Winks - Can never question his effort but not a great game today.

Subs didn’t really get enough time but Stevie looked lively when he came on.

Neither team could break down each other and the goals all came down to individual errors or moments. Our defence edges theirs and that's the difference in the end (due to better experience than ability as well IMO).

For me the team showed desire and resilience, particularly in the last 5-10 mins. Stand-out moments/individuals for me:

Sissoko: what he lacks in technique (seriously one of the worst footballers i've seen at this level) he makes up for with drive, stamina and determination in games like this. 85 min + he dribbled down the right to draw a yellow card from Saka. He was knackered. What more can you ask for? (fine better technique, but it's not his fault that he is not gifted)

Son: pressured their defence all day and stole the ball or took up good positions high up the pitch on many occasions. Good effort. My MOTM.

Lo Celso: Keeps the ball well under pressure and doesn't give it away. Also has good work rate in defence. Key player.

Lucas: can't fault his effort...make mistakes yes, cant pick a pass yes, but the running and determination is worthwhile.

Lucas was great, and Toby gave me hope for the future, played well against a very fast attack.

Ndombele man of the match for me. You can just see from the way he was sitting on the bench that he would have been able to cut through the Arsenal midfield and defence with ease. Jose knew that but wanted the remaining team mates to prove him a point. So clever management too.

Tn aside i thought lucas had a big game today and the middle was actually reasonably strong. Slight improvement from Kane as well. Good to see him getting annoyed and putting it about a bit. But i thought toby was back to his best. So would probably get it for me.

Lo Celso was our best player in the 1st half, then faded badly.
Toby has played well defensively since his return and this unlikely goal certainly makes him a contender.
But for me, Moura worked so hard all game, and patched up our long running left side problem. Motm

Mention to mourinho, who has taken a fair bit of abuse this week. It was a committed and attacking display from the team today. Entertaining and tactically spot on.
I couldn't care less about the rest of the season, but this performance and result is the one that should give us confidence for next season and hopefully we can build a genuine title challenge from it. Or a league cup win.
It started today.
