Well what a surprise. We will be 15th by the end of the window. And most definitely looking over our shoulders. Shambollic.
Yeah, our season definitely hinges on whether or not we're able to bring in an average rotation option. Had we signed him, I'm sure you'd be in the player thread bitching about how shit he is after one sub appearance.

I personally doubt it was merely wages. Juve are a bigger more prestigious club than us and he’s going to be the main man up front there. It really is a simple choice for the lad. Good luck to him.
Just day earlier it was the fact we didn't want an obligation to buy that was stumbing block....

Interesting that Vlahovic wasn’t in Juventus’ squad at all yesterday. I’m guessing he’s injured? I’d still love us to sign him but a right winger should be the priority, together with a left back/left centre back.

That said, Douglas Luiz would be brilliant as well!

The reality is we’ll need to break the bank to sign top players, particularly with wages. As things stand, our position in the league doesn’t exactly make us an attractive move at the moment. Gentle persuasion will be required (££££).

I don’t think we can blame the club here. If he chose us over Juve it would be purely because of money. They are bigger and better than us in fairness.

If we don’t have other targets, it’s clear this was an opportunistic pursuit and we can blame them for that. And that’s the worry for me.

I don't know which is the better/worse scenario tbh. That we were after him just because he is a quality player that we thought we could get on the cheap, or that he is the profile of player we really want and so went after him because he was the best fit for what we want to do and now we will have to go for a lesser version of that type.

Yes of course we can. We are the best club in the history of the world. The only reason players turn us down is because of Levy.

Exactly, we should remember our club was about the same size and history as Bury before Levy took over and he did this all without massive financial gain. What a hero.

Well if that's simple why have we waisted half the window trying to get him....so it appears anyway.

January is a difficult time but Ange obviously felt we were close to bringing in help for Dom.

Because it’s the job of his agents to
Get as many offers on the table for him to choose from.

Has it been confirmed that Muani was who we were after? It seems odd that Lange’s data driven approach would go for someone so for lack of a better word obvious.

He’s no doubt a good player, but for a lot of reasons it seemed a round peg in a square hole for us. Not least since his best position is either through the middle or on the left when it seems like we’re really well stocked on the left and Solanke’s our undisputed first choice through the middle.

Hope there’s something under the radar in the pipeline and they’re a RW/cf option. With Richarlison back and Moore back I hope we can spread the load on the left wing a bit better with Richarlison covering both and Moore picking up a few more minutes on the left to give everyone a bit more of a breather.

Personally hope we don't have an alternative at all lined up, and we look to go in a different direction that better fits our needs.

Yeah I worded that badly, I mean another option but sees us go for someone more appropriate for what we need

Perhaps he is a profile we were looking a for future, for when Richy leaves? However because he was available we brought it forward. Maybe we now jump back to a true RW.

Wishful thinking probably.

I agree with this but hopefully they're already lined up

Not sure I agree with «a lesser version». We’ve seen before that we are good at identifying good alternatives, like van de Ven and Vicario.

from my perspective I’m not overall y upset we didn’t get him. Don’t think he’d suit us. We need players with a good first touch and strong up front.

However contrary to this I am still disappointed that he made the logical decision to join juve. Thought we had a chance and this makes me concerned with us bringing in players of his calibre or higher in the future.

No way he’s on that much.
Thats what was reported. Italys tax laws are different to ours so maybe 200k after tax to them is significantly less than we would need to pay.
PSG likely paid him silly wages to get him to sign, much like the situation with Werner
