Yes, it's all supposition but we clearly wanted a deal for Muani.

I'd be more comfortable with Muani wanting to go to Juve because they are in a better position to compete and in the Champions League than it being merely wages.

I personally doubt it was merely wages. Juve are a bigger more prestigious club than us and he’s going to be the main man up front there. It really is a simple choice for the lad. Good luck to him.

It really depends whether the manager wanted him. He has said we need bodies and l believe the forward positions were mentioned

My concern would be once again we haven't fully backed the manager and thus repeated the same stitch up of our previous managers.

I really hope it's not the case of knowing what we need to seal a deal but bargaining our way out of the deal

If it was a loan with no option and Ange really wanted the player, to lose out on wages would be a concern.

Of course perhaps he just chose Juventus over us, but that's not what Hercules is alluding to.

Didn't want him at the start dont want him at the end. Cannot control a football for the life of him.

Would be absolutely useless in the premier league.

I don't rate KM that highly so not fussed he's not coming in based on my opinion on his technical ability. BUT... I've seen a lot of people complaining not signing him because he isn't a RW and while agree he isn't, I genuinely believe our interest in him was primarily to be cover/rotation for Solanke. The fact he can play out wide (though not his best position) was merely to show him he'd get regular game time in the next 6 months, which he would have.

But Ange and the staff just don't trust Richy to stay fit and we're at risk of running Solanke into the ground. So in that sense, I was happy with the loan as it helps Solanke and adds added depth out wide. Now I'm nervous that we haven't gotten it over the line (being a fan ain't easy). The tricky part is other options would be less ideal and risk having to be a permanent signing rather than loan, which would create future squad issues. Solanke needs help, though. If Richy manages to stay fit through May then this point becomes moot.

Think we'll focus on wingers in the summer.

P.S. I do expect an out of the blue 16/17/18 year old signing like we usually do in January (buy and loan back type deal). Preferably a midfielder or full-back.

I'm not bothered he's gone to Juve. Massive respect overall to Seria A but that league IMO just doesn't hold the same quality it did 10 years ago, and certainly no where near what it did 20 years ago.

You look through the great teams of old, Juve, AC Milan, Inter, Roma, Lazio etc, extremely average squads.

Lot's of possible reasons Muani would choose Juve over us, but if you're a player wanting to prove themselves then you do it in the Prem IMO.

Really not bothered.

Ange made it clear again we need another attacker to lessen the load on Solanke. There has to be an alternative we can work on.

There was an interview with Thomas Frank at the start of this window that seemed to imply Mbuemo could be available. You'll likely have to pay a big fee but I'd be all over that one. Overpaying for a key target is what ambitious clubs do.

I am not surprised if the rumoured 200k per week AFTER TAX is true. That is some serious wages to meet for a 6 month loan, especially as he would not be a guaranteed starter
Before tax that would equate to between 350k to 400k, so easily our highest earner and for someone many people have questioned attitude and fit for our system

I would pass at that

I don’t get why everyone seems to think we need a forward so badly?

Richy is coming back from injury now and I’m sure he’s got at least 30 mins in the tank in him for the rest of the season
Remember, Only takes a minute to score a goal.

30 goals.

We can afford it!

Surely it isn’t too much to ask this club to actually try and go out and buy a player this window that’s in form and doing well?

Im not too bothered about missing out on his one because right from the start it was worrying only us and Man U wanted him from the PL. Their recruitment is terrible, which I think tells its own story in relation to us.

I think you’re completely correct here. I’m not convinced about Ange but he’s been in the game long enough to know players and if he thinks we need extra cover up front because Richy just won’t stay fit then the club have to back him with this kind of deal. I mean, it’s obvious to most fans that Richy staying fit for the rest of the season is in the lap of the gods but I bet the board see his return as a reason not to try too hard to get another attacker in. Another, “we tried”, to add to the list.

You don’t end up at PSG if your main motivation it’s to prove yourself.

£200k AFTER tax? No way would we (or should we) pay ~£400k. Not for this guy anyway.
