Romano has said we've made contact with PSG for Muani on his YouTube channel - go to 4 mins

It seems to back up POK's info about him being the desired forward target.

Juve and Villa also interested.

I think he ends up at Juve.

Well we know that he won't be here in time for Liverpool and I'd like to think that even with our bare bones squad we can take care of Tamworth on the weekend so wouldn't be surprised to see us take a few more days with this one. Also as our past few transfers have indicated, still wouldn't be surprised to see an alternative pop up out of nowhere.

Did someone say Muani was a back up for a main target or have I imagined that? If so who was it again?

I hope if the manager wants him that we go all out to get him. Never seen him play but like the profile of someone being able to play in multiple positions.

Certainly plenty of work in wide areas here that suggests he could be an upgrade on what we currently have out wide, whilst also being good competition/rotation for Solanke.

For a January loan move I'm all in.

Certainly has the physical profile to do well in the PL.

I can’t say this blew me away in all honesty. Maybe it’s just his dribbling style looking a bit chaotic but it seems like he’s never really in control of the ball which in the premier league you’d get killed for, not to mention a lot his highlights look like he’s most effective on the counter - which again you’ll get more of in Germany than you will in the premier league.

I get we need bodies, but it just screams another Werner where it’s someone who could be a bit of cover for a few areas whilst we also hope we can bring them back to previous highs. I’ll back him if he does come but hope there’s someone else in the pipeline.

I guess the hope is that Yang/Moore/Odobert provide the trickiness, while Solanke/Muani/Johnson will provide most of the goals.

It fills me with dread if we’re hoping for a 20 year old, an 18 year old and a 17 year old to provide our creativity in wide areas.

Appreciate players who can do both take players on out wide and score goals from the wing are a total rarity so accordingly at a premium. But I’d hope that if we were going to spread the workload in that way (as a lot of teams at our level do) we’d not be counting on our undeniably talented but also very raw young wide players to carry the burden of providing trickery to set up our more effective goalscorers.

I think even with our current clearly very future oriented transfer strategy that would prove a bridge too far and we’d be looking at someone more developed to cover that side of things.

Every team needs a couple of these, however..... More than a couple though? It's very much jack of all trades territory and you don't win things without specialists in their positions.

He'd only be a great fall back option if he's the fall back to a better player, and not just a better deal financially.
Not entirely true, a lot of top modern teams have front 3’s which are interchangeable.

Can absolutely see why Ange would be keen on adding this profile of player.

We can't rely on Richarlison and Werner isn't it. We also need RW back up for Johnson. If we can find one player to do all 3 then great news

He will be a great signing

He will be a terrible signing

Just putting both options so I can edit when necessary on the 1st Feb

Agree on this, doesn’t look like that much of a good dribbler another runner to add to the likes of Werner etc rather than a more delicate dribbler which we sorely need.

It depends what the deal is for Muani.

If it is obligation we have to take him in the summer, which I imagine PSG will want. I would rather wait until the summer for better options.
In an ideal world it's a loan with first refusal

obligation / no option at all is a massive risk and I would rather we looked elsewhere

I totally agree, but with the amount of players we have on the books now, and unless we lend out those youngsters, we’re kind of in a bind. Probably by design.
