Racist abuse in our stands, we need to face it if it’s there.

If proven their was racist abuse towards Rudiger that is despicable, but his reaction in feigning injury to get Son sent off was despicable also.

You are saying they are both just as despicable as each other?! Seriously? Bewildered by the attitude of some on this thread towards belittling racism. Sad days indeed.

I find it amazing that people here are shocked we have racist supporters when only a few years ago whole stands were singing the racist Adebayor song.

Come on, it's the same at every club. There are racist knuckleheads at football matches because there are racist knuckleheads in society. And recent events in politics have only served to empower them.

I may live in a bit of a bubble but in my day to day life I encounter way more kuckleheads at football matches than I do elsewhere.

Its no coincidence that the EDL movement and Tommy Robinsons rise was off the back off football "firms" supporting him and the cause

Amazed at the level of responses in this thread which has probably opened up a big can of worms. We are better discussing pure football.

Anyone heard it? I have to admit it but I’ve heard abuse against Irish, which I am, well Northern Irish, anyone there tonight? Actually ashamed tonight, why do we lose our heads against these arseholes, time after time?
I have to agree with you. It makes us no better than them. I'm deeply ashamed to be a Spurs fan today, and not just for the utterly disgraceful 'performance' from the players, but for the fact, I never thought I'd ever hear about racist chanting coming from the stands at our own stadium. That puts us on a new low. And that absolute **** who threw some sort of missile at their goalie too needs to be named and shamed. Let's hope that with all the modern surveillance techniques and CCTV footage, we can root out these people, name and shame them, and ban them from all Spurs matches for the rest of their miserable lives.

Yesterday and today, after nearly 60 years as a proud Lilywhite, following that shocker of a performance and the (alleged) racist chanting, I feel ashamed and embarrassed to call myself a Spurs fan.

Can we not see it as he threw an object that was the only thing by his feet at the nearest player who happened to be black in a moronic fit of rage in a heated NLD.......again i repeat , banned deserved for an unacceptable act, but not racist.
I guess if you know the guy and it’s plausible yes, but for the vast majority they would see it as racist for the blatant obvious reasons- really ridiculously poor judgement to throw something on the pitch, couldn’t have been a worse object though.

still, it marksus as a ‘racist’ club, whichconsidering our rich diversity is embarrassing.

I think people are more frustrated that the possible actions of one or two people in a huge crowd have been transformed into "Spurs fans racist chanting marrs match and casts dark shadow on football" by the media, as if it was a repeat of that England game a couple of months ago.

No one seems to know what actually happened at the moment, and yet we're being hung, drawn and quartered by the press and public.

As far as I can tell, Spurs did everything they could to deal with any situation that might have occurred, are looking into what happened and will punish anyone found responsible - but we've already been found guilty...

I completely agree that the club has done everything it could do in the circumstances. Imagine if the club had responded like some on here have done though. ‘Racism at Spurs? You must be mistaken or lying. We simply don’t believe it.’

I will say, I think it would have been a nice if there had been a chant amongst the fans in general either in support of Rudiger or in condemenation of the "fans" at fault. I think that's the kind of thing that can go a long way in presenting the incident today in a more positive light...by that I mean right now you see nothing but negative headlines, if there had been something like the aforementioned it could have flipped the situation on it's head to some extent and even have been seen as a positive scenario and powerful moment in the fight against racism.
My friend, it's my belief that although Son was an idiot in trying to shove his studs into Rudiger's chest, he made no actual contact and Rudiger made sure the ref got his red card out. Not condoning Son's behaviour, not by any stretch, but having said that, it would have been very hard for Spurs fans to chant Rudiger's name. Any so called 'professional' who tries to get a fellow professional sent off by cheating is pure scum in my eyes.

I can't condone any racist chanting of any kind and I certainly don't, whoever is doing it. That kind of embarassing shit belongs back in the dustbin of history, 50 years ago, and it was no more acceptable even then.

Is there any evidence?

In man city it went viral in social media right away but I haven't seen anything about this only that people say its bad and the people who did it should get banned. I totally agree with that but is there any evidence ?

I dont see why rudiger would lie about it and maybe he miss heard but if it happend I hope the club catch the once doing it.

Was this ever confirmed or are we going off what Rudiger thought he heard?
I don't think there's any recorded evidence, but some who were in that section said that they heard something. There was stuff thrown on the pitch as well.

He was getting booed continuously because of his reaction to Son's kick. Who knows what nutters shout when they're angry.

Nothing confirmed yet, which I do find a little bit strange considering the amount of cameras and microphones at the stadium.
You'd imagine with the fans mobile phones that they seem to have out at any given second then something would've surfaced by now.
