Racist Abuse - consequences?

I know there's several threads about the alleged racist abuse of Rudiger last weekend, but I am a little disconcerted at a separate aspect of this.

What are the rules, procedures and consequences of alleged racist abuse at stadia?

The reason I am a little disconcerted is that it appears the player is the only one to have heard it (and may have been mistaken) - the ref almost certainly didn't (or he would have mentioned it), and yet he proceeded with the UEFA protocol of giving three warnings to the crowd.........if it turns out that Rudiger was mistaken, then there could have been, presumably, quite severe consequences for Spurs wholly on the basis of an allegation that could turn out to be unfounded......to me, that is a little worrying, particularly when we have the easilly mistaken "who let the yids out" chant.

Easy there's enough CCTV in the ground to confirm whether or not it happened.
If there was jail the wanker and ban for life.
If not then we move on.

Maybe stop chanting that then. Just a thought.

Whilst that is true, I am more concerned about the in-match issue.....conceivably, could the ref stop the game and award a win to the opposition purely on the basis of an on-field accusation only witnessed by the accuser? If so, then what if that accusation later turns out to be unfounded?

Absolutely not.
Any opposing fan could turn up with start chanting carp knowing he could get the points for his club. (Titles and relegation decisions )
Fans would stop chanting and singing frightened that it would be interepted wrongly or misheard.
If that starts happening the atmosphere at the game would be gone.
The clubs need to root it out and ban these idiots while the justice system needs to dish out custodial sentences to the offenders.
