You're missing Rodgers and Clarke of Mourinho's litter (granted managers in their 40s are 'young')
True, 21 managers emerged under SAF and it didn't pay off, at least not in the top flight.

And AVB ;)

Management is kind of a white persons game, but we can't just presume that it's because of racism or prejudice.

Sol doesn't get a job because he is one weird character, no one would hire him regardless of being black, white, green or a chromatic iridescent glow.

Does he have a point relating to other (sane) black guys looking to get into footy management? Not sure? The numbers don't stack up.. There are not many coach qualified black guys about, therefore you are not going to have many managers.

I can only think of Ince, Hughton, Chris Powell and Edgar Davids.. guess the answers need to be found in the reasons why there are not many black guys going into coaching in the first place.

Barnes got a big job straight away. He got sacked because he did terrible. He then got a smaller job. He got sacked because he did terrible.

Terry Connor worked as a coach for years and was promoted to manager when Wolves sacked McCarthy. He got sacked because he did terrible.

Paul Ince did a great job 1st time around at MK Dons and took over a Prem club too soon. He put them into a relegation battle despite them being a stable club for years. He got sacked because he did terrible and has struggled ever since.

Hughton got his qualifications and worked as a coach for over a decade. He learnt his trade and got a job at Newcastle. Quite a big club for a first job in management. He did well but his insane chairman made another of his crazy decisions.

Since then he has done a very good job with a struggling Birmingham and got offered another Prem job.

Ian Wright publicly said it wasn't worth him getting his coaching badges and other potential black managers have said the same. Well you're not going to get a management job without them.

Hopefully aspiring black managers are motivated by the way Hughton has gone about his management career than the likes of Wright, Barnes and Campbell. He didn't cry racism when Newcastle fired him. He got another job and did a great job.

Hughton and a few other ex Black pros are the exception. But if you think there is no bias what so ever when it comes to employment in the UK in any sector when you are black/brown then you are mistaken. Yeah the UK is a fairer country where opportunities for black/asian people are better but to make the argument that there is no prejudice/racism is inaccurate.

I don't think anyone has said there isn't any prejudice.

One person pointed out that we need a much better analysis of the situation.

Clark Carlisle did a program last year/maybe this year on racism in football. The best example of a manager he got was John Barnes. A man who was given a huge job as his first job in management despite little coaching experience. He failed spectacularly but tried to argue on the show that because he is black he wasn't given enough time.

I've no time for people like Ian Wright saying there's no point getting your coaching qualifications if you're black. A self-defeatist attitude like that is hardly helping the cause.

Care to expand on why you think management is a 'white persons game' ? Not sure what you are trying to say here?

I'm saying that there are far more white managers in Europe then their are black managers, but it's not racially motivated IMO.

Campbell is the reason why he has not been offered a managers job

No loyalty other than to his bank manager

Almighty chip on his shoulder

Lied through his teeth when he wound down his contract with us

Mental breakdown at Arsenal

Walked out on Notts County after a couple of games

Tried to sue Pompey when they were on the brink of bankruptcy

No sane chairman would even employ a **** like that to empty the bins

Watch Campbell do a bit of TV punditry and the reason he wont get a mangers job becomes quite obvious. An inspirational speaker he is not.

Why stop at Black... I want to know why there are no hermaphrodite managers in the prem along with none from Japan, China or Thailand.

We should start a campaign to get more lady-boys in management positions (I'm sure Gold & Sullivan at West Ham must still have some connections from their previous roles)

Soon Sol will claim it's racism that's the reason why Spurs won't hire him as manager....
