Have you ever considered that we've needed a number 9 to challenge and play with Kane when we got rid of Llorente last summer. In fact there's an argument to say that player could have come in a number of windows even earlier.

To say we've only had one window is bullshit I'm afraid. Whether that's Poch, Levy or a mixture of both I couldn't give a rats arse. We are consistently making huge mistakes when it comes to recruitment. That is fact.
And what or who is the reason for this fuck up of epic proportions

We’ll finish 5th, think we squeezed into the champions league because of man shitty’s FFP palaver, and then their ban gets overturned and we head into the EL -> worst possible outcome.

#justspursythings
I would take 5th right now and take our chances.

I don’t see any problem finishing top 4 or 5 this season

I’m mean if you include Eriksen we’ve only lost 333 goals at this moment in time

Eriksen 69
Son 83
Kane 181

That doesn’t even include the goals they create

Let that sink in for a moment...
Basically Liverpool without Salah, Mane and Firmino

Even if Jose decided to go on the front foot I wouldn't trust this team to suddenly go on a goal spree. We essentially have no penalty area players. Who is gonna make the runs into a cramped penalty area?

We've seen for years that Alli is more than capable.

I'd have him as a false 9 with Bergwijn and Lamela if fit enough. Lucas is too much of a headless chicken, needs a rest and might be useful against a tiring defence.

That's my only criticism of Jose at the moment. You either play parrot or find a way to adapt, instead of persisting with a Lucas and Bergwijn as strikers. They arent, and never have been, strikers

honest I'm not having a dig at you, but what a fucking question to ask someone with an "ENIC OUT" avatar :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

the thing is if I KNEW of someone that would take us over and spend an absolute fortune GUARANTEED!!!!!!! I'd be happy with ENIC selling up for it, because I would love to win something, and we would need players with better bottle when it came to Semi's and Finals (because ENIC are not guilty of blowing it), and with what we have had to deal with to try and provide us hope for the future, because if we didn't have the stadium on the horizon I doubt we would have kept the squad together we have that threatened to win something.

much to agree with here.

Jose gets, mostly, a pass for the cluster that is this season. Only quibbles are the ultra defensive approach (which isn't really working because we keep making errors) and not giving Parrott a few more minutes (see Utd and Greenwood).

Real problems, and route of the frustration are ENIC/ Levy. And frankly the stuff and nonsense they feed to us every transfer window and in between. But the club is stuck with them until they get their valuation.

It is laughable when you see the praise they get for the stadium project - Levy is paid millions to oversea the club and should be able to do two jobs - deliver a capital project + support onfield success. Did the first well (in the main although certainly imperfect) and relied on Poch to squeeze water out of a stone on the second. Now, from a valuation perspective, he will have to invest big in the summer....if he wasn't a shareholder and family with the lead share holder, questions would be asked about failings on the pitch/ player side but he is 100% safe.

Mate I don't think there is anything you can say that would upset me but you would be so upset if Danny boy left you are two peas in a pod.

But what if Jose IS testing Parrott in training? What if he looks out of his depth against an ageing Jan? Do we still throw him in even though there's a chance he'll suffer and lose confidence?

People often say "nothing to lose" accept there is, we could destroy a young kids confidence. Kane made it with is because he was given opportunities in a competition with no pressure, that allowed him to come into bigger games brimming with confidence. What if Jose has seen Parrott shrink in training? What if he feels he's nervous or not mentally ready to take the pressure?

He didn't have problems with Tanganga but it's been noted that Tanganga has a very strong mentality, so Jose knew he'd be fine, he knew he was strong enough, can we say the same about Parrott. You can't just throw youngsters in and say 'sink or swim', especially 17-18 year olds, especially of they are not mature enough.

It's not all about being ready ability-wise, it's about mentality too. I'm pretty sure we had ITK that said Parrott wasn't ready this year at the start of the sesson either. Which leads to the true issue....why wasn't another striker signed???

not if someone comes in and spends money I wouldn't, but I'd be gutted if someone bought us and did a Kronke on us.

Jose’ll probably finish behind two absolutely bang-average managers in Ole and Lamps. What a mess this club is.

Well after watching this weekends game we’ll be lucky to finish top 6, and maybe even top ten unless the manager can come up with a better plan than he has now

Yep. We are utterly fucked. With some hard games coming up I’ve a bad feeling even the scum might move past us.

I'd care more about other results if we weren't so shit ourselves. It's one of those situations where I feel we have to worry about ourselves before others. Even if others drop points I'm not sure how good a position we're in to capitalise.

The game against Wolves to me is a perfect game to have next, even if I can easily see us losing it. Very tough, but the type of game that can galvanise the team if we win. It's just really hard to see us sustaining any sort of good form though.
