They've scored more goals than Man City, kinda suggests that they are.

they have scored 5 less than City, they just have a better defence at the moment due to City suffering injuries

14 goals in 2 of the matches when weak opo on the day went down to 10 men. yes I know we struggled to beat 1 and lost to the other, but who knows what the score might have been had we or most teams had played against them with 10. they are a well organised team that has also had a few breaks go their way.

it's very similar to when they won the title, and they are actually playing better football. to have any chance of catching them at the moment we will need to hit a real purple patch, and hope they have a massive wobble or suffer some injuries. being in the QF with no easy matches now, if they want to continue in the CoC they will need to field a strong starting XI which might take it's toll on them later on.

edit: in fact, Man C have scored 44, then Liverpool with 40, then it's Leicester with 39.

Yeah not sure why I thought they scored more...

Not sure why the need to downplay the Southampton result though? Nothing lucky about it, they were relentless.

Yeah it's virtually impossible to catch Leicester this season, they are scoring goals and not conceding unless they have a few injuries and tiredness but that's hard to imagine as they don't have any European football this season.

Hope they win the league cup personally
Nothing like it for completely derailing the second half of your season imo. :sneaky:

Hope they lose in the final.

That's no good it's the winning of it that kills you off unless your a city chelsea manure (of past years) type with 1 billion great players.

Trophy's in your head end the season it's a psychological thing all in my opinion of course.
So they win it celebrate hard because smaller clubs (and us) do not win things often and then go to shit ( Ramos era a good example for us).

I remember watching the game and once Southampton went 3-0 down in that driving rain and being down to 10 men it just looked like they just wanted to go home, think it was their 4th or 5th home game at the time and they had only gained 1pt at the time from their home fixtures. Leicester took full advantage of it and full credit, had it been any team playing well with confidence that had the same luck of playing 10 men after 12mins when 1-0 up it could have seen a similar score.

Well man City just about managed to get over the line against them and scored in the last minute against them at home, albeit Southampton had 11 men.

They also didn't leave themselves as open after losing 3-1 to them in the cup between the battering they got off of Leicester.

as Greavsie used to say, "it's a funny old game Saint", and it is so much so. shocks have been happening since the day football was discovered, and will continue to happen till the day the world ends. that's why I never expect to win a game, and just hope we can, with style and avoid injuries

More talented individuals, yes.

As a working collective, no. Their record speaks for itself.

Their record over the last 16 premier league games...speaks for itself.

Hey, it’s all about opinions of course and I do rate Leicester’s attacking options highly, Ive always said I wanted Vardy at our place. I think what they have done well is build a balanced side, with genuine options. It’s smart and simple really.
It’ll all come out in the wash eventually of course, that’s the beauty of it. I have no doubt every leading manager within the game though would take our attack over theirs, without hesitation. I suspect they’d take Kane alone over their entire attack though to be fair!

Point is I don't see where luck comes in the equation, it's just football at the end of the day, shit happens.

you don't see where luck comes in?

luck is part of football whether it's the way fixtures fall, if a team has bad injuries, a goalkeeper 1 week having a howler, the next week having a blinder, a deflection that earns 3pts, a penalty given or not given, so many things can happen in football that are seen, on 1 day as lucky or unlucky

Right so Leicester received no more luck in putting 9 past Southampton than City did when they beat them 2-1. You can argue about the sending off and the fact that Southampton's collective heads dropped and they retreated or whatever...Leicester took advantage of the situation ruthlessly just like Man City did when they played them at home and inevitably scored in the last min, this is football.

Football is a game where you make your own luck, you are in charge of everything you do which is within your control on the pitch. In this context Leicester putting 9 past Southampton was the result of them just being far better than Southampton on the day, nothing more.

This Sunday is a very good test for us. If we want top four away form has to improve.

Wolves are a good side and we'll need to be a lot better than last Wednesday at OT to stand any chance of getting the win.

Time to get the consistency going required for top four from where we are.

pointless arguing with you, my view is if a team drops it's guard when down to 10 men, and another team stuffs them then as you say it's football. if a team plays nearer its strengths or goes out to weaken a teams strengths by putting a brick wall up, and put the effort in they will make it seriously hard for another team to batter them.

all I saying is if you've just gone down to 10 men, and in the weather, they were playing in, and before you know it you are 3-0 down heads and confidence drops, and the other team sometimes takes advantage of it, just like Leicester did. the luck involved was it was Leicester playing them that night. Had Southampton not already been 1-0 down when 1 of their defenders had been sent off, they might have played the game so differently, stuck 10 men behind the ball and hope for a counter. when you are losing that's not an option when your 2nd from the bottom which they were that night. they left themselves wide open allowing for any team to take advantage

Yes mate it's called football, luck is a lazy word to describe your scenario.
