When you look at experience on the pitch and bench, you have to say we look much better than United or Chelsea. We just need to stay fit.

I reckon it’s between us and Chelsea for that fourth place. If we can win at Stamford Bridge, we might just do it.
And it’s probably gonna be a record low number of points to make fourth.

The game at the bridge is the one, if we can take something from there I think we will do it. The points total for 4th is going to be low so as long as we can keep chipping away I fancy us.

I know we rode our luck in that first half but I do feel we are starting to show signs of being a hard team to beat, we just need our attackers to start performing more consistently. Lo Celso and Ndombele will be huge, the class they have will give us chances just need someone to start tucking them away.

Seeing us only 4 points behind Chelsea makes it even more frustrating we couldn’t sign a CF on a short term deal.

That result and clean sheet should be a big confidence booster aswell. Hopefully we can carry that forward and go on a bit of a run now.

Will be absolutely massive for us if we can sneak in. Would also make the scouse title win irrelevant.

Very good weekend for us, but this has happened a few times this year and we've thrown games away to undo the good work.
We had "the bounce" at the outset and then it went a bit shit but it's starting to feel like he's genuinely having an effect on the defence. Plus Hugo is back, which is an incredible boost to the whole back half of the team. We're still a bit limp going forward but Lo Celso's having more and more of an impact, Bergwijn's clearly a star in the making and Sonny has hopefully got a bit of his swagger back with his goal. A clean sheet against City is not to be sniffed at, we only conceded against Norwich from the penalty spot otherwise that's 3 in a row.

If we can keep getting clean sheets then we have a great chance. If we start leaking goals again then we have no chance. Also the team moral really did seem improved with some new boys around and eriksen and rose gone.

Plus (as Mourinho says) we don’t have many players to rotate up top, have injuries and have other important fixtures to play in the cup competitions. Players are going to get no rest. Eg. Aurier has played every game pretty much and is now looking shattered after 70 odd minutes. He needs some rest.

sheffield United really are the dark horse in this if they keep their form up. Their fixtures are the best.
If it were Sheffield that pipped us to 4th I'd honestly just think fair play to them. It would be gutting but far from as bad as if one of our London rivals or Man U did it.

We can rest Aurier if we switch Tanganga over to RB and play Sessegnon in an Aurier-like role from the left side.

I imagine that's what we'll do against Saints even though theres 11 days until the next game after that.

I’d say the bridge is must not lose as opposed to must win. Will be 11 games left Chelsea still have to play city and Liverpool. The Chelsea game will probably be our only game left we aren’t favourites with the bookies. Feels like Jose is pacing it like a great jockey to just come and pip them on the line.

Do Chelsea play Liverpool and City around CL games, tbough? Both could rest a lot of players to focus on that comp now the league’s done.

the next game will tell us everything about jose's impact as we always tend to play like shit and lose after a big win, regardless of the opposition

Did a prediction thing earlier and put in results for all the top 8 for the rest of the season, put us down to lose at Chelsea and that had them finish 4th on 66 and us 5th on 63, changed it to a draw and we were 4th on goal difference.

To get to 63 points we need 2 points per game for the remainder of the season.
