We're currently in 6th place, equal on points to United in 5th. Our form and position is improved under Jose - the first 12 games under Poch we had 14 points, and now after another 12 league games under Jose we have 34 points. I may be an optimist but I'm hoping we can continue to see our form improve, and at the very least we're aiming for 5th especially as we're already equal with 5th on points. Your prediction of 7th is pretty pessimistic. The tough challenge will be to reel in Chelsea, but considering they were on 26 points after 12 games and are a now on 40 points, we have already halved the deficit and their form is in the opposite trend to ours. To overcome a 6 points deficit to Chelsea with 14 games remaining (incl. one game against each other) is not impossible, so let's get behind the team and see where we end up!
Yeah I agree. we don't really want to let the gap get any bigger but we are in the group going for it and we have the experience of getting it so there is a chance.

The problem we have is our next game with Man City may put us a bit further away from the pack.

To quality for top4, we got to start winning games against top4 rivals - at the minimum atleast not lose it.
From a transfer window perspective, atleast we seem to be doing the business ,which others arent till now.
If we get Bergwijn & a striker over the line and our rivals dont improve much, there is a good chance for us to be in top4 end of season

Or just against anyone in the top 8. Our record against these sides this term is awful

Sad watching Leicester vs Chelsea. Both teams nowhere near a top performing Poch side. We should be in third. How far we have fallen!

Leicester, Chelsea, Man Utd and Wolves are only playing each other in game weeks 25 & 26, so points have to be dropped. Man City is obviously a tough match, but even if we don't take anything from that match, 3 points against Aston Villa would close the gap on our immediate rivals. Then we play Chelsea and Wolves, followed by Man Utd a couple of weeks later.

It's far from an easy task, given our form this season, but top 4 is still very much there to challenge for, even without relying on other teams slipping up. It's in our own hands to close the gap on Chelsea and pull away from Man Utd and Wolves this month!

Well we're going to need a points tally in the mid-60's to stand any chance of top 4, which means winning 10 of our last 14 games.

Looking at our fixtures on current form, I can't see us getting anywhere near that.

Sheffield United have a nice little run of fixtures coming up. If we can’t make it, and I don’t think we will, it would be great to see them get the last spot

Chelsea have got United after the break, and we're away to Villa... Wolves have got Leicester at home...

Very good weekend for us, but this has happened a few times this year and we've thrown games away to undo the good work.

Since Mourinho took over we're level third on form with Leicester and Southampton. Seven wins, two draws and four defeats (23 points from possible 39) for all three.

United, Wolves, Sheffield Utd and Everton all took 19 points in the same spell. Chelsea got fifteen points - by far the worst of the contenders (four wins, three draws and six defeats).

If we maintain even that mediocre form we finish on 60 points. But if Chelsea don't improve they're heading for mid-50s, as are ManU, SheffU and Wolves.

It's been a weird, frustrating season but we are absolutely still in this race.
