I just want to secure top 4 before our last game of the season so we can proper enjoy the game

So would everyone, but I think that’s optimistic. I would absolutely take going into the Everton game ahead and it being in our own hands. I think we’ll beat them.

Actually can see Arsenal slipping up against palace off back of Napoli away Thursday. Palace actually have great away record.
I can see another Watford type game , where Palace miss a stack of chances but Arsenal scrape a win. If that happens, we know we are in trouble as we've seen it so often before from them

It's still so close. Tbh, we should've had this wrapped up by now, but we don't, so I won't waste time complaining about it!

Arsenal still got 3 away games, Wolves and Leicester can be real tricky, plus Arsenal have only won 6 out of 16 away games this season and didn't really show much against Watford.

A Chelsea vs Man U draw would be welcome. Though I think Chelsea will win their other three.

I can see United not win any of their next three, I definitely think they'll drop points against City.

Our games are tough to call. I think we'll beat Brighton and Bournemouth. Anything from City will be a bonus, West Ham will treat our match like a cup final and Everton are unpredictable.

It's gonna be painfully close... I hate this!!

Chelsea beating Utd would be an awful result for us, if they draw then we should be able to get away with 76-77 points allowing us for one more slip up after City.

Utd are going to have to beat Chelsea or City in addition to their other fixtures just to get to 76.

Arsenal are the biggest threat. They have winnable games on paper. Just need to hope their poor away form continues and Wolves/Leicester/Burnley do us a favour. Palace will give them a game at the weekend too but I expect they'll win that one. They can probably afford to drop points in 2 games to get top 4. That jammy win last night was huge for them. I think we'll need at least 10 more points to finish above them.

I think if we come out of City/Brighton/West Ham with 6-7 points then we might be able to seal top 4 at Bournemouth, but placing against Arsenal probably goes to the last day. We just need to hope for no more injuries. Main thing is it's in our hands, even with City coming up. We can afford a loss at City if we win our last 4, but need to avoid a large defeat for GD purposes.

If City win at OT and Utd beat Chelsea, 9 points should be enough to get us 4th. These are now the key games for us to follow( apart from our own). If they go the other way, I think we are in trouble.

If Utd beat City and Chelsea beat Utd and we lost to City, we will still be fine for 3rd providing we win all our remaining fixtures.

Ultimately, the wealthier clubs can afford better attacking players, who can score goals, which is fairly difficult to do in football.

It's as simple as that, really.

That's why the clubs outside of the Top-6 struggle to finish in the top 6 spots and why attacking players are so expensive.

I guess it's why we struggled until we had Kane come through the ranks. We then added Sonny and Dele who pop up with a decent amount as support strikers.

Chance for genuine glory. 1 game from winning the biggest club competition. Think I would take my chances

With our record in cup tournaments since 1991 I wouldn't put a single egg in that basket.

Yes, but I think we will drop some points. Maybe a couple of draws, maybe a loss and a draw.

Have faith. Other than the City game, we should win all our remaining games. And there's no certainty we'll lose against City. We have proven various times since they became a mega-money club that we can do them, as recently as last week.

The Bournemouth game being on a Monday is a bit of a pain. Another bonus of beating city in CL is that will be moved to Saturday 12.30.

Should all be a lot clearer after Brighton game. Everyone be on same games and hopefully United be totally out of it.

Didn't realise that. Much more preferable, I hate having to play catch up.

Not sure why...

Even if we draw against West Ham for example we would need a pretty unlikely set of results to go against us, we could still finish 4th regardless.

Well, not really. Man Utd beat West Ham with 2 penalties and West Ham having a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed. Arsenal beat Watford because the Watford keeper decided to blast the ball of an Arsenal player and into his own goal.

Those win were absolutely nothing to do with the wealthier teams having superior attacking players.

I'm guessing, however, that players who were bought for £60+ million forced the defenders/goalkeeper into making mistakes, leading to those goals though?

AFC's win yesterday was not ideal of course, but whilst it may change the odds of finishing above them, I sense that our ambitions for a top4 place will be most impacted by the form of CFC and Utd.

I know we have all been playing around with predictions but FWIW:

CFC have 4 games left and will likely win 3 of them and pick up a draw at OT (would be shocked if they win there)
Utd have 5 left and will likely win 3 and draw two (CFC and City).

That would leave CFC on 76 and Utd on 75.

We would then require 9 points from 5 games (assuming our GD of +9 holds up on CFC).

Bearing in mind Utd next 3 fixtures: Everton (a), City (h) and CFC (h), I suspect the biggest danger to our top 4 chances are CFC.

With all this in mind, 10 points from here and it would be extremely unlucky to miss out. 4 wins and neither side are catching us.

On the other hand an extra two CL games will add to the fixture congestion in an already busy period. Admittedly we've overcome fixture congestion before but I'd worry about our midfielders playing so many games.
