You can’t assume anything. First year city won it they were 8 points behind United with 6 games left. Ferguson was in charge at United and they blew it. City won on goal difference having almost lost to qpr on the last day.
As long as we can be within 2-3 points on the home stretch we have a chance.
Our confidence must be sky high at the moment as we just seem to get it done whatever the game
Bet we take all the first half to get going on Sat. 10 days off is good for the injuries but we do struggle after a longer than normal break. Liverpool certainly were not impressive last night, and do appear to be wobbling a bit.

I'm not counting any chickens until after our next three games: Burnley, Chelsea and Arsenal - if we manage a clean-sweep in those games i'll officially be excited... trouser-ripping excited!

Thing is, they don’t need anyone talking about it. They know it. Since he said been there Liverpool have not finished the season well under Klopp. They’ll be fully aware of this.

United winning could begin the turning of the tide media wise. They’ve been obsessed with Liverpool winning the title this season from the off but do not discount the media in this country. They build them up for one reason eventually...

Any implosion at Anfield now will have the media creaming themselves I reckon!

I agree. There was a bit of an over reaction when they failed to win a couple of games. Lose to Man U and it will be full guns blazing on the Liverpool slip once again.

....and make life difficult for Hazard, preferably a tackle in the 1st 5 mins that's not a red card offence, but puts him out the game for a month or 2(y)(y)
no, just want him out of the game against us (going off in agonising pain) only to then miraculously recover and help chelski take points off the other teams around us

Whatever the result is v Burnley which more so we need to win, we really need Liverpool to lose on Sunday.

If we win and they lose that means only being 2pts behind. Then after Wednesday if we are still 2pts behind we will play our next 2 fixtures before them.

If we get in front to stay in front we obviously need to just match their results. If they draw on Sunday we will need them to definitely drop points in 2 more games then us due to GD, well a lose and a draw more. If they lose then 1 more lose and we can go above.

The only downside is due to their fixtures whatever happens in cup matches they won’t get clogged up with rearranging any, so can go back a head in points then putting pressure on us, as we might be 1 or 2 fixtures behind. Hopefully with CL possibilities, the PL will force us to face Palace 12/13 March otherwise if Brighton beats millwall and we reach SF of the CL we could be playing 4 games in 1 week.
Mathematically, if Pool lose, then the league is in our hands. We just need to win every game!

Im hoping the break stopped their momentum a bit, funnily enough their results improved as soon as Hart was dropped.

What happened to that guy?

A good few years ago he was this great up and coming keeper

Now, he seems to be in the papers every other month for the wrong reasons

Those want puffins would rather lose and come 10th; than help us win the league. They will definitely not play for pride. I can see a virtuoso performance against us and absolute rubbish against the other teams.

I think Burnley stats are a tad flattering they’ve played nobody of substance bar United. And the United game United had 28 shots. They lost 1-5 at home to Everton just before Xmas and 5-0 to city in cup. They aren’t very good table doesn’t lie. They may be stubborn to break down, but can’t see them threatening us much bar set pieces. They have no pace in behind to worry us.

Burnley are always going present a tough test. They will keep things tight, look to hit us on the break and in the final 15 mins try to pressure us to nick it if we can’t break down their stubborn resistance. It’s a Dyche’s game plan against top sides and to be fair it’s a fairly solid one. We have to take our opportunities.

Think I'll reserve judgement on how good they are until post match.

Is Chris Wood injured then? His pace in behind always worries us.

You think Chris wood is fast ?

his pace hurt us when we drew 1-1 at home in our 1st season at Wembley. his pace hurt Brighton the other week.

he might not be Salah pace, but he is fast enough to hurt us if he gets the space

People need to prepare themselves for a very messy frustrating affair on Saturday. I look forward to the match thread positive vibes when we still haven't scored by the 60th minute.
