That win today really does make City v Arsenal a win win. Either stay above City, go on level points or end up 10 points above Arsenal.

Cannot wait.

Nah, it has to be a Man City win. We’ll be 10 points above the Goons, which is proper breathing space.

Also I think having both City and us pick up points puts more pressure on Liverpool. So I think a City win for me also, preferable by 6 goals or more!

Draw would be decent tbh, failing that a Citeh win. Gooners win wouldn't be a disaster but i'd rather us keep a safe distance before we play them.

You won’t be in a couple of weeks :D
Until then I'm looking up, because I'm taking it one game at a time. We need to stop thinking about Arsenal catching us. Let them worry about that, we're in and around City. Even if Arsenal do win tomorrow, it's still 7 points.

It'll be interesting to see what state the table is in after Sunday Feb 24th. By then:

We have Leiceister (H) and Burnley (A)
Pool have West Ham (A), Bournemouth (H), and United (A) (Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll get 3-5 from those?)
City have Arsenal (H), Everton (A), Chelsea (H) (Could easily pick up all 9, but could also get 5)

Hopefully we'll get the jobs done in our matches and the table could conceivably be

Pool 66
Spurs 63
City 61

Would be sensational to defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a table looking anything like that. Would be also super deflating to lose that match...

Starting to feel a bit excited again! If only we could get Kane and/or Dele back for that match!

It's such a fucking cliche I know, but you really do have to take it one game at a time. The moment you start looking ahead is when things can fall apart.

Why? I'd rather a draw or *whisper it* Gooner win. I'm looking up, not down.

I am all for looking at a target and the highest position we can achieve despite the results of those below us. That is why despite our obvious rivalry, I still want Arsenal to beat Man City which would result with us maintaining our 2nd position. After that it would totally in our hands to finish at least second.

It's totally in our hands to at least finish second anyway. Beat City at the Etihad and match their results for the rest of the season = 2nd.

Quick read of RAWK this morning and it’s quite clear they are absolutely shi**ing themselves. The funnniest thing is every post is “ we have to stay calm, take it one game at a time” but you can read the anxiety between the lines. If the players are feeling even a smidgen of that they are utterly f**ked. I’d also guess everywhere their players go in Liverpool it’s all people are talking about. They are very lucky West Ham have so many injuries or I’d massively have fancied at least a draw.

Nice to know we can kick back and relax not worrying about the other results. Hopefully Leicester can get at least a draw at home to United, which will give us massive breathing space in front of them. The Arsenal game as people said it’s a win/win, although personally would love a draw in that one. Would keep us neck and neck with city, but also give us another 2 extra points on Arsenal. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone :)

Interesting.

I've mentioned the pressure on them previously (think it was around Christmas). League titles have a bit to do with ability and a lot to do with handling pressure.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Liverpool are the only PL era team not to have won the league, yet be top at Christmas. And they've done that twice!!

It all stems from the massive desperation their fans feel about winning the league. At Anfield that feeling will 100% translate into pressure directed towards the team on match-day.

By rights, they should see the season out and be crowned champions.

But I have a niggling doubt that they'll slowly start to crumble under the pressure.

I would like a man city win... With both of us closing Liverpool down it adds more pressure for them.. Also ensures less pressure on us and keeps us under the radar...

It will also keep the team behind us... If we win all off our remaining games, and man city do as well, excluding the game against us. We will finish ahead of them... It just a shame that man city don't get to play liverpool again...

...is the right answer! I will be sat here with an enormous mug of tea and some nibbles, enjoying the ensuing carnage (hopefully) and if there are a few nice injuries along the way, I won't be complaining.

I was watching 'The Debate' one day last week, and they had Emma Hayes on (Manager of the Chelsea women's team) and what she said about us was, I thought, absolutely spot on.

She said so many pundits seem to be infuriated that Spurs haven't spent any money on players and yet are only a few points off City who've spent hundreds of millions. When she said that, I thought 'at last someone has had the guts to come out and say it'.

I think we're a very good bet for another top three place and the three below us are going to have to fight it out for fourth.
