Without thinking about CL or Europa I just want us to win the next 7 games. If we finish this mini season with 8 wins and 1 draw then I can get really excited about next season regardless of if we are in Europe or not. I think it will be a major mental boost for the club and the players also.

If we do we'll almost certainly finish 5th or better.

We're not winning the EPL or the CL any time soon if we're honest. People keep going on about Mourinho being a 'serial winner' so I say bring it on with the Europa League. It's virtually gauranteed from what I can make out.

Oh sorry I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, I thought you were smart enough to work out what i was trying to say, perhaps not but okay...Redknapp basically came out and said what most managers thought, yet the evidence of their attitude towards the competition agreed with him due to the teams they used to put out and the half arsed attempts at progressing in the competition.

Good luck signing keeping top players because we don't qualify for the Europa League?...Er okay I think I'll agree with you, yeah let's leave it there shall we ;)
Hang on.

There’s no need to imply that just because we don’t agree, you’re smarter than me. You made your point just fine the first time. I didn’t think it held water so I had a look back at the facts.

Redknapp basically came out and said what most managers thought, Its a pretty outlandish claim to make so confidently.
Around that time Villa and Man City were the only other teams qualifying for EL and trying to break into the top four like us. Martin O’Neill did also come out and said it too, but even so that’s not most other managers (It was hugely unpopular and pretty much finished him as a top manager). At that time a lot of PL teams qualified as a result of being runners up in cup finals, such as Birmingham and Wigan. Their battle was to avoid relegation, so just like a domestic cup run, it could be problematic. That was never an issue for Spurs though, and it’s not the same thing.

And regarding signing or keeping players, how do you think Kane would react if he sees us field a weakened team in the EL next season? After his recent comments, we know he’ll be off like a shot because we don’t match his ambition.

Im ok if you don’t agree with me, but there’s no need to be rude about it, throwing around snide emojis and the like.

I wish they would go back to the knockout completion it used to be. Would make it much more fun to watch than a cheap version of the champs league.

We win all our games, but City didn't get a ban just a fine, and we don't get champions league

Man.u looking worryingly like they did under fergie. Ole the apprentice is growing, they look like a serious team since they got b.fernandes and also pogba back.

them and wolves have such easy games in the run in I think we really have no chance of top 5 tbh. Just enjoy the rest of our season let’s hope we finish strongly and can win the EL next year

United are absolutely flying and it's very difficult to see us catching them. The key thing is that we keep winning our matches and stay within shouting distance. Wolves are breathing down their necks as well so one slip-up and they'll be under pressure.

It seems far likelier that Leicester and Chelsea might drop points but they're so far ahead it's hard to see us catching them either.

Brighton had been playing well since the break by all account so it's impressive the way they are swatting them aside.

Should add dont think we've a hope of catching them, Chelsea or anyone above us to be honest.
We're limping along with an unbalanced side and a squad needing serious investment. Also playing negative, game killing football which bores the pants off me but hey fk it.
Lost interest tbh.

we won't catch united, wolves we can catch and don't count out leicester dropping into the mix. it's between us/wolves and leicester for that 5th spot imo. yes we need to win every game but leicester haven't been great since the restart and the last game of the season could end up being winner take all.

Investment, refreshing, buying the correct players. We aren’t going to be able to do it with the virus the next window. No CL next season means the budget will be small the following summer too we have to get champions league next season because I don’t believe in the club enough to think they will get the right players in going forward without it our scouting and buying of players just seems to have fallen off a cliff.

It was him or Lo Celso

Levy actually backed Poch and everyone complains lol
Yeah it was pretty clear Poch's top choices were Lo Celso and Ndombele. I think we were pursuing Bruno just in case Lo Celso didn't happen - we had reps in Lisbon the day before the window shut. Obviously we made the breakthrough on Lo Celso and Bruno was dropped. There was also the Dybala fiasco.

Hard to believe that was all 10 months ago. That CL final should have elevated us.
