Crazy what happens when you play with two ball playing midfielders...
Yes, there is the big thing in football that managers feel they have to play certain 'types' and often it's thought of as either him or him. That's why I was disappointed we didn't get Fernandes as well as Lo Celso. They'd have be magic together. But oh well, you have to play with a player that does nothing but tick over possession these days...

Watching the Man Utd game now, the biggest difference I see is that their fullbacks are better and they are much more fluid in the attacking areas with one touch passing. Also they have Matic who is steady, strong and better than what we have in similar positions.

Not watching it but probably don't give it away as much. We have Dele and Lucas who seem to lose the ball as much as they find a man, Lamela who can also be guilty of doing so and Kane has done so in the last 2 games also but he's normally one who uses the ball well in fairness to him. Son can also be a little erratic in possession too. The only two who I can trust to not almost regularly give the ball away easily are Kane and Bergwijn, out of the attacking 4 players I mean. The rest can give it away far too cheaply and I hate how there's no reaction from the team every time it occurs, like it's just normal.

We are unlikely to finish top 4/5 but it is interesting to see how LCFC have been being sucked back into the race - CFC, Utd & Wolves are really closing in on them. Their last two fixtures are against us and Utd...lose both and they could well end outside a CL spot.

I get the feeling it will be like last season. Three or four clubs stumbling towards the line, dropping points left and right. My hunch is Wolves will sneak 5th.

I doubt it - watched the Wolves game completely - they are so much dependent on Traore & Jiminez. They played bad till their goal. Its such a shame, Bournemouth couldnt take the lead when they were on top. In the end, Bournemouth lack of confidence showed.
If Wolves play like today to other decent teams, they will drop points in next 7 games

The moment united scored the penalty against us top5 was over imo

Lets see - our defensive display in last 2 games and Kane sprinting back to his best yesterday gives me some confidence. Leicester are in dreadful form -and they have really tough games ahead - Hoping we can keep current solidity going with Kane chipping in - you never know we could catch Leicester given their dreadful last 10 game form

I know it’s only been two games but Leicester look like they’re treading water. I can see them being reeled in by United ( and us hopefully)

And yet there were lots on here turning their noses up at Matic when we were linked with him when Mourinho joined. He'd of been perfect in our team.

Wolves away to to Villa in the derby on Saturday.

United away to an inform Brighton on Tuesday.

Two big games that affect us. If they both win those I'd say its extremely unlikely for us as it's tough enough hoping for one side to drop points let alone two.

We need at least one of them dropping points next round of fixtures.

Two tricky games though for them, here's hoping.

Agree with all of that. Keeping an eye on Chelsea too. If they lose tonight (City) the gap is 6 points and they still have to play Liverpool, Wolves and three London Derby’s.

I suppose what we’re really hoping is a teams form calamitously falls off the edge of a cliff similar to Spurs, Arsenal and Utd last year where the teams could suddenly hardly win. Basically hoping for a miracle.

I think that will end up being right. Or, by the way, the moment we went for Ndombele, not Fernandes. Whatever our initial thoughts on the similarity of the two (being that they occupied different roles) it feels to me that on reflection, they're both best used as CMs/AMs...and Fernandes would have been better.

Watching them last night, in Martial, Pogba, Fernandes, Rashford etc., they've got some really talented player who now look like they're pulling in the same direction.

Their fixtures are relatively kind, they're improving and I don't think we'll have enough to claw that back

Looking at the fixtures, I can't see man utd or wolves dropping many points.
5th or 6th looks difficult.
I think we'll end up 7th, with a decent chance that gets us a Europa League spot taking into account who's left in the FA cup and what might happen to City. I think there's even a chance 8th could get us a spot.

The problem is we have to usurp at least two teams and most of them are playing against each other. Only way I can see us getting there is if we get a lot of draws played out in those matches and we win pretty much all of ours.

Lets just hope Chelsea implode. They’ve got a relatively difficult remaining group of matches.

Even if they do, it also needs one of United or Wolves to stumble, or Leicester to completely collapse. And then all that's assuming we don't do the same.

I'm grateful the break has given us a great chance for a Europa League spot though. I'd much prefer that to no Europe.

Pity the referee did not book Pogba for diving on the first penalty .
I heard Martin Tyler saying we " got away with the second penalty " we did not " get away " with anything it was a dive by Fernandes and he got away without a booking . Still I suppose when you have Tyler / Neville / Evra / and Keane commentating and summarising and not a spurs man in sight at the Tottenham stadium what can you expect .
Personally I got what I expected from such a one sided panel and I do not expect things to improve in the future .
Sky are really the pits and I hope and wish they lose their premier rights to anybody really they could not be more biased as that is an impossibility. tossers and then I can pay my money to someone more even handed .
