I still think they can win the thing now Fabinho is injured. With the fixture congestion, it could create a domino effect of injuries for Liverpool. They aren't home and dry just yet.

Change the title of the thread!

If Leicester wins the league again, I demand a public enquiry into what legal and or illegal methods they are using.
It's called 'not being involved in European competition'. With the amount of money flowing around the league now this phenomenon is going to become more common. The benefit of CL and EL is still there, but it's much less of an advantage in terms of attracting players than it used to be.

We have to win too many games and rely on a lot of slip ups from other teams.

It’s possible, of course, but December isn’t a great barometer unless you’re well ahead like Liverpool and Leicester.

Enjoy our revival for what it is and review at the end of March. If we’re close then it’ll be a fun end of the season.

I can't see Leicester lasting the pace. I can even see them slipping out the top four (he says, hopefully). They're not going to get the free handouts they got in their title winning season. 'Pool will get those.

Would love Leicester to win it this season somehow. Imagine the seethe. I could actually enjoying watching it this time around as well..!

For us, good weekend. Bring on UTD.
To be honest, I hate Liverpool with a passion and their 'self entitled we're the victim' fanbase. But I have made peace with the fact that they are going to be crowned champions in May. And I'm OK with that, what difference does it really make to us? We and the rest of the Prem don't like Liverpool so, who cares.

I doubt we will spend much in the January window as the prices are always inflated which puts our chairman off but likely we will shift some players that look like they don't want to be there anymore. I'm sure there will be speculation, a few silly low bids and haggling which will amount to nothing more than a bunch of excuses how it is a tough window.

Without some strengthening I don't think we will have the legs to get top 5 as we tend to fizzle out towards the end of the season. We are playing well but there is always a period that a team suddenly finds form when a new manager starts but that won't last. I see us getting 5th at best unless we invest in the January window.

I don't see Liverpool not winning the league and City will likely come 2nd followed by Chelski and Leicester if they keep playing like they have been. Probably once Man Utd fire their manager and hire Poch, they may overtake us too following a major spending spree in Jan.

I doubt they can keep up it all season, im sure the winter club comp will have its effects, but they seem to miraculously own VAR decisions so probably your right

I remember the days of Newcastle with I think an eleven point lead at Christmas. After thirty years of not winning can Liverpool Cross the finish line or will Leicester/ City-come from behind?

I'm sure the theory is correct, but a correct theory doesn't necessarily mean adequate explanation. They've finished 1st, 12th, 9th, 9th, and now the title race. If your theory was enough of an explanation, they'd be doing much better than 9th.

I disagree. As soon as the assistant referee raised his flag, the game should have been stopped. You can’t raise the flag in play and go to VAR. If the flag is raised that’s it
That is why they are not supposed to flag until it's in the net or off the pitch. That way VAR can look at it and decide.

I can't help but really hope both of these teams luck finally runs out and they get a taste of their own medicine by shipping in controversial late injury time VAR goals or conceding and letting in soft VAR awarded penalties.

I'm not making the same mistake twice, I'm putting a tenner on Leicester winning it this time...
You won't be winning at odds of 5000-1 I'm afraid, and I don't even see you keeping that tenner, with the amount of jam Liverpool have the title is going to one place I'm afraid, whilst we all "love it" Keegan style for them to blow this lead and get pipped at the post, I just can't see it.

Just looking at the last couple of seasons after 14 games, in 2018/19 there was only a point between Chelsea (31), Arsenal (30) and us (30). By the end of the season the spread was just two points Chelsea 72, us 71, Arsenal 70.

2017/18 was another story. After 14 games we were seventh in the table; 5 points behind Chelsea, 4 behind Arsenal and 2 behind Liverpool. We ended up third; 7 points ahead of Chelsea, 14 ahead of Arsenal and 2 ahead of Liverpool.

So a run to the CL places doesn't seem ridiculous to me, not least because near enough this same group of players have put together the kind of run necessary to achieve that very recently.
