Because you know it's true. By Tuesday, 50% of our possible trophies this year could be effectively gone, including the only major one he's managed to qualify for. The way you start a season matters. 4 points from Everton, Southampton and Newcastle is simply not an acceptable start, and it will take something spectacular to make up for that failure.

But what are your expectations though, the title or top 4 because title I think is out of our reach which was expected but top 4 is well and truly open this season - 3 matches gone, 35 to go, can't believe I'm actually saying this but there's a long way to go, hardly our fault that we have to throw the LC, the fixture congestion is mad.

This just seems like irrational rambling to me.

And we could still be in LC and EL by Thursday night. You come across very defeatist for someone who supposedly wants glory.

Unless people think Harry isn’ta good enough striker for us, they have to be encouraged by today’s performance even with the horrid result.

Jesus Christ. Its three games into the season. Yea it's frustrating but hardly requires something spectacular to make that up ?

With the quality of the league performances we've seen over the past two matches I think that on footballing merit we'll be right there for top four this season. What's depressing however is that it feels for the first time that footballing merit will not be reflected on the table. When points are gifted or stolen based purely on the handball lottery then the table will not reflect the quality of the teams, which is a complete fucking disgrace.

Sod the xG. A world-class manager should be able to not have his team concede from a set piece nearly once a game, and should be able to actually stay till the end and try to help them win. So far there's always an excuse and never a trophy.
I don't like Mourinho any more than you seem to, and have been consistently critical of his set-up and tactics. But the loss of two points today was nothing to do with Mourinho. We played well and created chances; if it wasn't for some poor finishing and an outstanding performance from Darlow we would have won that by a street. Poor refereeing and a stupid interpretation of a rule ultimately cost us two points.

Mourinho gets at least a pass today. In fact, he deserves praise for getting his team to play on the front foot and challenge a team which parked the bus instead of just sitting back and playing square to try to get them to come out and play.

How many trophies did we win in those seasons?

In the last two seasons we won trophies we lost both of our opening games and spent time at the bottom of the league / in the relegation zone in both...

Is it me or with the the exception of a few do we start most seasons miserably .

I can’t see us getting a result against utd , they get gifted penalties and we usually struggle there . Hopefully proven wrong

Luckily for us United & Chelsea have already slipped up, lets just hope we can keep pace with the likes of Leicester & Everton if they continue to start well

Looking at our highest points total of 86 in 2016/17, we actually started quite similarly taking 5 points from the first 3 games, then went onto win our next 4 before drawing 4 in a row.

Saw enough yesterday to take some positives and know we'll kick into gear eventually.

How many games did Liverpool win by one goal last season?

We didn't let Newcastle have a single shot on target for the entire game until they were given an unfair penalty in the 95th minute. Nonsense argument.

Anyone really thinks we'll finish above Leicester or Everton this season? I didn't think so.
Leicester had a very strong start last year and then the second half of their season was more like midtable form.

Everton have started strongly but may have squad depth issues.

We on the other hand are negotiating a ridiculous schedule, with some players who had no preseason.

Wait for things to settle down, wait to see if we bring in Skriniar and a CF.

Wait to see what we look like with Bale and Reguilon in the team.

Wait til Ndombele and Lo Celso are fully up to speed and can handle 90 mins back to back.

If we live up to the promise we have, and with a coach like Jose in charge, there's absolutely no reason why this team cannot put a solid run of wins together, especially later in the season, when Everton and Leicester's squads will start to feel the heat.

City are very beatable.
Liverpool are beatable - defence not as sound.

I said before the start that this season will be very surprising, but we look like we are putting together a very strong squad, and that makes a difference when the going gets tough.

It is unfair but theyre the rules so for now, we now know 1-0 is not enough

All through the match yesterday we were running the risk. 1-0 nowadays is rarely enough particularly with the risks involved in these silly stupid rules that punish unfairly

Teams like Burnley you dont want to be 1-0 particularly with the set pieces that will no doubt contribute to the result

Chelsea won the title in 16/17 after a very poor start. Not saying we will win the title but the most important thing for me in the early part is seeing a team starting to flourish with all the components coming together.

Plenty of teams have raced put of the tracks but can't keep up the pace because of depth etc

Liverpool started incredibly strongly last year but they were also pacing themselves and they looked very hard to beat.

City flew out of the traps in Pep's first season, it didn't look like we could challenge them, then we beat them and their form went off the handle and we emerged as bigger challengers to Chelsea.

A good start is just that. A good start - nothing more.
