As per odds though, we have 1 in 2 chance to finish outside Top 6 (even money), 1 in 4 to finish 5th or 6th, and 1 in 4 to finish Top 4 (actually slightly less than 1 in 4 as can get 7/2).

So comparing voting to realism (which is roughly what current odds would show)

We should have 25% chance of finishing Top 4, but a whopping 59% have voted that way so far
We should have 25% chance of finishing 5th or 6th, but 34% have gone for that option
We should have 50% chance of finishing below 6th, but only 7% went that way.

I don't think it is most erring on the negative side at all, I think most are way too optimistic with Spurs blinkers on, as you can see from those numbers.

Odds have nothing to do with reality and everything about maximising profit for the bookmaker. If i put a £million on spurs winning the league tomorrow those odds would change dramatically.

They will think what odds are tempting enough for people to make a bet, how many will bet. If they win will their loses be offset by another team missing out...

Any subsequent signings and the quality will have bearing on how I would vote, so will leave it until the end of the window. But even without any additions I think we will do well.

For nwo can we put title please. I appreciate we are 14th at the moment but it will get better and 1st place is still up for grabs

The likes of Kane, Hugo, Son and Toby are some of the best in the world in their respective positions. It's a question of whether others can step up to that standard with them, and whether the supporting cast is strong enough in terms of football and in terms of mentality. If we get at least a good LB and a decent Striker, I think we have every chance - let's go all the way and get the league title those lads sorely deserve.

It caters for all as it is. Plus at some point some knicker wetting teenager with the emotional capacity of an empty milk bottle will complain that it says 'title' because we can't win it. So it gets changed to 'race for top 4'. Then another arrives and cries about that and so it gets changed again. Last season, we actually had people wailing like an air raid siren about 'race for 6th' "change it, change it....waaaaah"

This season you can suck it up and be grown ups about it :hungry:

Good idea, thanks.

but we only need 5/6, and 7/10, to choose from.

being an optimist, ha, I’ve gone for the former, although the goons Leicester and Wolves will be there or thereabouts....

a good striker, lb, regular selection of a creative midfield and luck with injuries for once could see us do even better

The most important thing that has to change for Spurs to truly succeed is luck.

I have always felt that we have not had the fair share of luck in critical moments during my time as a Spurs fan. Whether it's a dodgy lasagne, ridiculous refereeing decisions in big matches, rivals winning tournaments despite not deserving and of course serious injuries to key players.

Leicester and Liverpool had incredible luck with injuries when they won the league. Of course, they had some injuries but their big players weren't missing for 2 months at a time.

We always haven't helped ourselves either with our transfer policy of consistently leaving things late. This is happening again, it is clear, we have needed another striker for years, yet we will still haven't got one. I understand Jose has confirmed we will have another but this should have been completed weeks ago.

Ultimately, if we have some luck, anything is possible as we have some excellent players and a manager with an incredible pedigree.

I know fans love to overreact but we shouldn't. Short preseason with half our starters away on Internationals. Give players time to gel and get back into shape then you will see a completely different side.

It will be nice to have some easy games coming up to get the game form back. 4th place is still my prediction.
