Sorry didn't go far enough. But I think we'll be safe before the City game because the gap will be even wider - we're picking up points and I can't see where Leicester and Ipswich do. (Villa away is cup game, we've got them later). We beat Leicester and Ipswich it's done and dusted. We've got Southampton and Wolves to play after that too, just can't see where both of them are going to pick up points get in front of us
No worries, anyway, let's hope the results go how we want next weekend and we all feel a bit better about things 👍

12 points will likely be enough but right now I just cannot see where our next win comes from. Anything but a win next weekend and we are in real trouble. Just before Christmas I laughed and dismissed the sheer notion of not getting another 13 points. Since then we’ve picked up 1 point at home again Wolves and have lost another few players to injury. Things are getting desperate

I don’t see where the next win comes from with this guy in charge

A lot of your optimism seems to be based on your confidence that we will beat those 4 teams below us. I currently don't share that confidence but I will feel a lot happier if we can beat Leicester next week.

Prepare for a painful Feb...

2 Feb - Away to Brentford
Don't see us getting anything...

7 Feb - EFL Cup away to Liverpool
a one goal lead... we might get hit for 5 or 6.

10 Feb - Vila away
Villa is in fine form... and we are rubbish... might be a painful night.

17 Feb - Home vs Man Utd
Even thou they are rubbish as of late.. u know the new manager bounce will come when they play us.

22 Feb - Ipswich away
One i think we should win....... but we tend to be VERY generous again the bottom side.

27 Feb - City Home
finally a game in which we tend to do well. but if would take a draw if offered.

I can see a scenario where we don't win any matches in Feb.

yikes that’s grim.

thing is we can’t even draw games either, we just lose. At least some draws keep the points ticking over.

he’s done, he has to go

The two in bold just seem like "any reason for a bit of negativity" dross. We've already beaten United since they've had their new manager, and despite losing at home to Ipswich I expect we'll be going in to that game as strong favourites. Saying we're generous against the sides at the bottom is also incorrect when we recently beat Southampton 5-0. Not to mention the fact that the first of those two games isn't for another 4 weeks, anything can happen in that time.

I think everyone's focusing on how bad we've been, but not bothering to consider that teams who don't have the luxury of potentially getting 10+ first-teamers back in their squad have also looked as bad, if not worse. Looking at the wider picture the reality is that Southampton and Leicester aren't catching us, and Ipswich would have to overturn an 8-point gap and a hefty GD to get near us as it stands. On top of that they would realistically need another 12 points, assuming we don't get more than that before the end of the season (which I'd fucking hope we will).

Feel free to bookmark this and rib me for eternity come May, but as painful as it is currently we aren't getting relegated.

I know it's very unlikely we lose everything... But what sucks is that it is possible.

Worst case scenario... But it still isn't out of the realm of possibility. The way we have been playing as of late... I am not sure if we can beat a league 2 side.

But I don't think we will get anywhere near the drop. It just how far have the sunk.

If we lose to Leicester at home then it will be full blow panic mode IMO
Full blown in stadium riot mode too. The sound guys will be getting the volume knobs cranked up already in anticipation. 62,000 deaf fans a possibility....

Knowing how trigger happy Levy has been in the past and with the club in a far less perilous position than we are in now leaves my aging brain confused and going into overdrive wondering why.
Firstly he hasn't yet backed him, seems that he wants to keep as much cash in the club accounts as possible, secondly hasn't sacked him.
So if he won't back or sack there can only be a few reasons.
A) Most likely because Levy doesn't know what to do next, even if he has ever known what he is doing.
B) He knows who he wants but that person is unavailable at the moment or he is negotiating with the current club.
C) My favourite but more in dream world than reality, we are close to a takeover and he doesn't want to bring in someone new that the next owners don't want, also ties in with the not spending.
In all honesty point C is just me trying to inject a lot of optimism into myself.
Levy has to act now, either back or sack because things can't stay like this any longer, time for him to stop sitting on his hands and take action.

This thread's title needs editing.
The Crawl to 40 points?
40 points for Dr Tottenham?
Dare to do 40 points?
I bought this shirt and all I got was 40 points?
