Incredible to think that if three other teams weren't historically shit we could conceivably have been in the Championship and Champions League at the same time.

I don't think that would've happened, in reality. Even as it is, our 38 points and +4 GD was enough to stay up in 21 of the last 22 seasons - West Ham going down on 42 was an absolutely hilarious aberration. And add to that, in the scenario where the bottom three aren't shit and we're therefore in actual danger, Postecoglou gets sacked months ago, and we don't put out second-XIs in the league to prioritise Europe. We've only been able to do that and thus make a European final because the bottom three are so bad. If not, we likely wouldn't be in the final, but also would've clambered up to the mid-40s or so on league points.

Can we finish ahead of Man Utd?
Unlikely because we’re 99.9 % certain to lose away to Villa and if we win the Europa League with all the celebrations it will be difficult to get up for the Brighton game if we’ve exhausted ourselves in the final, if we lose final then morale will be rock bottom and then some.

I’d give us about a 10% chance of getting a point at best at home to Brighton, and on our league form that’s being generous, so that’s the only faint chance of catching Man United, we ain’t catching West Ham now.

If we win the Europa League, who cares.

If we don’t, fire him twice.

You’re the most optimistic person in this gaff so this is the equivalent of me screaming the sky is falling down from my roof.
😄You misunderstand me, I'm optimistic we'll lose this race because it will annoy even more people when we win the Europa league😄.
My fervent hope is to then win the Champions league next season and that will bring meltdown central in certain parts of London. My cunning evil plan knows no bounds.😉

And Brighton may well have a European place to play for on the final day too.

Grim.
