Its same as every other organisation who had to go through all the tick boxes to ensure if things did get cancelled they didn't get shafted by lawyers or insurance companies. For example production companies couldn't cancel their shows until theatres closed but they themselves had to hold until the government told them to close, if anyone lower down the chain blinked first they stood to lose out the most.

Even if they don't think the season will play out they have to be seen to be doing everything and giving every opportunity to do it until their hands are officially tied which gives them the out.

I'm beginning to get seriously fucked off with some people (not in here).

As I mentioned in another thread the lower/regional leagues have all been cancelled here in Portugal, much like in the UK.

My head coach went into a meltdown when the news was announced, despite me and another coach telling him that he needs to be prepared for the inevitable. He then went on a rant attacking the Portuguese FA, calling them sons of whores.

Every single time I check phone there's a message from him in the group talking about it. He's making all this about him and how "He's been f******".

I'm starting to not want to return and work with him.

I'm also wondering how many others are reacting in the same manner. The only aspect I care about regarding football at the moment is people's welfare and livelihood - are people still getting income etc.

Also, the PL can pull their heads outta their arses.....oh and transfer stories too, seriously WHO CARES!!?

Not sure why the World Health Organisation would care about transfer stories but okay...

Eufa may take the decision out of the premierships hand and void all countries leagues . With the proviso that they have the legal right or whatever is needed to do so . It would stop all the uncertainty and speculation .I myself hope this happens then we can hopefully start next season somewhere near the end of August / Sept tho even that may be optomistic . But a late start with no replays plus Champions league go straight to Knock out from the off and do away with the league system in the champions league .

I don't think they could legally force it to be voided. However, they could probably say that European participants must be chosen by the time the Champions League Preliminary Round Draw is due to take place on the 9th of June, leaving everyone with an option of finishing the season by then (impossible), using the unfinished standings at that date (even less fair and more open to legal challenge), or voiding the season.

Jaysus the more I read stuff like that the more I do think that the upper classes see sport as a way to keep the workers happy.

Sounds like an absolutely stupid idea. Think how many people are involved with each club for a start.

Guess they are all desperate for this tv money.

In theory it sounds like a great idea - I would love to watch PL games every day while in quarantine mode.

But then the practicalities kick in and it would be a logistical shit storm that could go wrong at any moment. Never mind how people worried about their jobs or families losing loved ones will feel with the country in a month long piss up celebrating football matches.

One of the first times I find myself agreeing with John Cross
