Money talks in the sense that without it clubs go bust and people lose jobs, so yes money talks. And im not sure how depriving fans of football would be in their interests?

Also just fyi, i dont know if you've just forgotten it's there but it's kind of hard to take seriously the opinions of a person with a quote of 'wise words' from one of the most high profile rapists of the 21st century in their signature.
I like the quote, not the person, but what fuck has my signature got to do with what I said about football..

With regards to crowd noise been played at the stadiums, I played a charity game at Watford a couple of years ago{with Ricky Villa,Mickey Hazard and Paul Merson to name a few) and they had a soundtrack of crowd noise playing and every time there was an attack they pressed a boost button and the noise lifted. As a 46 year old man playing in goal it did make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, considering we only had about 200 friends and family in the ground.

Seems there's only 5 games and none of them are ours. They all involve Liverpool or Man City and weirdly Man Utd v Sheffield Utd
[/QUOTE

Journalist on twitter said that they're was a big fight between fans of these two in a pub when they played each other in 2016.

They're both also playing for a European place.

It’s definitely going to feel different when it comes back with no crowds and with all our injured players back. Who knows, it might even be different on here during the match thread? There might not be any “FFS Dele”, “FFS Aurier”, “That’s why we needed to buy a striker in January! Levy has ****** us!”, I can’t wait!

I personally liked the pseudo-crowd noises I’ve heard so far. Felt they weren’t obnoxious and made it feel a little more normal. The shouts of players and massive “woomphs” of the ball in the earlier matches really made it feel like a training session, for me.

Arsenal letting a load of scouts go because of the virus. Let’s see if there is much coverage of it. I bet they aren’t the only ones to shed staff. If only there had been a government support scheme to prevent this…

It's shit, but only highlights how little support you get as a contract worker. Even a skilled one at a "reputable" company.

I think as many of us said when we mooted furlough, the very lowest bar for this is a zero net spend summer on transfers. Even a £1.5m net spend would be an insult to those released. Pretty much all premier league teams can deal without transfer spending for a year if needed.

Think they should definitely try some sort of crowd noise. Will get used to it in no time.. if it doesn’t work or gets a backlash then bin it nothing to lose IMO

This is the transfer window to not spend any money and to look at promoting youngsters.

It's hard to know as we don't fully know the financial implications and what is viable and what's not in regards to expenditure. You could approach it as you say or one might think if we can just get a couple of good inexpensive deals we can set ourselves up very well. It will be interesting to see how teams approach the window.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Looking for example as Werner rumour and the news difference from Romano or Falk and those who are close to Liverpool it's just club feeding the pessimistic scenario to fans if league won't restart. PL will restart and then club will have money to spend. Yesterday PSG who cut salaries paid by 30% agreed deal for Icardi for 50+7m

Good Idea. Maybe there should be a red button choice of sound effects:

1 Obscene Chanting

2 Loony Tunes.

3 Patriotic Anthems

4 Porno Soundtrack

5 Benny Hill Theme Tune

@ Ref

Man Utd's soundtrack

"Get yer Prawn Sandwiches 'ere 2 for a pand" (cockernee salesman like the fans ;) )

West Ham's soundtrack is just Rob Brydon doing his little man in a box routine...

Arsenal Soundtrack "we want Wenger out i say we want Wenger out!" *

* taken from last game they actually sung in ;)

Frankly a lot of it will probably depend on how we do in the next 9 games. If we have the double blow of Coronavirus and no CL, or even no Europe, that will of course have a much bigger impact.

Not sure if there has been any talk of this, but is it possible European competition won’t take place next season?

for myself rather than not spend I believe if you have the money spend it this window as some clubs are in desperate need of money to proceed . Cynical and nasty but you could get players for a much less price than in normal seasons . If you believe that other clubs would not prey on us once they see a weakness then you are living in dreamland . Football is a dog eat dog world with little or no integrity or care for your opponents .
