Thank goodness! Terrible situation, but from a selfish point of view I cannot wait for the season to be done.

All the talk is of whether or not Liverpool will win the title.

It would be massively unfair on them, but I don’t see how this season is going to be anything other than void?

There’s no way games are going to resume in April. The virus spread is going to get worse and worse, with peak levels in May.

Does anyone know if there is any directive in the Premier Leagues' or FA's laws that would decide what would happen when a season is cancelled due to natural disasters or equivalent? Or are we in completely uncharted territory?

I don't think you're anywhere near peak chaos so I wouldn't expect it to start in April.

It’s not coming back, can’t isolate the teams and club staff from society during an epidemic, so behind closed doors won’t work now it’s in the game’s eco system.

This is going to make the pain we felt at missing out on that CL spot to Chelsea nothing in comparison with the injustice of Liverpool fans and players are going to feel after the season they have had not winning the league, then the knock on for Leeds, West Brom... The lower leagues...

Time wise, I think it'll be ok as the noise is that the euros will be postponed so in theory the season can run until July really. Would be a shitter for the players for the following season but hey ho.

It would be funny if the season was void, but the legal ramifications would be too high. With Kane and Son back, who's to say we wouldnt make the top 4/5...in theory anyway

I reckon the season is over. 3rd of April is three weeks away and I don't think things will have gotten better by then.
Agreed. No euros or european competition either. There will be no football until next season imo.

Definitely wont start again at the beginning of April, even behind closed doors isn't viable when the virus has hit plays and staff at 3 PL clubs. The season is over folks, How the FA and UEFA deal with this will be interesting.

They’ll just take the league positions as they were at closure. Afraid our run ended with Sonny’s injury. Thank you Mr Levy!

If the season were to run until July that in effect prolongs next season to a point where top teams are conceivably playing 70 games. Player injuries and massive fatigue issues straight into a revised euros would mean nearer 80 games.

If income is affected then definitely no incoming transfers this summer now unless we sell Harry , probably put some lower league teams in dire straits financially this enforced lay off.

Has any precedent been set in other countries regarding the cancellation of a season? Do we start this one over? Make the rest of the results 0-0 and finish where we all fall?

Both feel unfair for multiple reasons.

Whilst the circumstances aren't nice, watching the season get abandoned for Liverpool fans would be hilarious. They must be panicking like crazy right now.

If it does restart, having Kane and Son back could actually be a huge lift for the team

Liverpool fans will love it. If the league gets abandoned they will still get the title with less games to play.

That's the theory, yes. All the rest of the games will be null and void Everything will be as is. Liverpool will win the title and we will not qualify for any European competitions. Great, eh?

Let's say if the season is over would the title be handed to Liverpool by default or would the season be deemed null & void. What will the repercussions be with regards to next seasons Champs Lge & Europa.

Kind sad there will be no football and sports in the mean time. But when life and death is concerned, just shows how many other things in life are really not that important.

I don't think they will, I think they will void the season. There was still domestic and European cups to play.

If the rest of the season is cancelled, folks, league positions will stand as they are now. Liverpool will win the title, Chelsea win go into the Champions League next season and we will have zero, nada, fuck all.

Think it would have to be mathematically impossible for them to lose it before they could be given the title.
