Might be controversial but I honestly don't think it's much different at all to before. It's more that people are realising they don't like football as much as they thought they did.

As well as people have an ideology and disagreeing that football should have returned, and pre-decided that whatever product was served up, they would be against.
Personally thought that both games were acceptable and at about similar level to usual. Sheffield United games are usually very low scoring, hard working, few chance affairs (games involving them have had least goals of any team this season), City showed their class.

It’s actually quite interesting how good is football as a stand alone sport. I mean I can watch horse racing F1 tennis and it would make little difference imo. Even cricket as well I’ve spent many an afternoon in an empty lords. You really feel football depends a lot on the fervor of the crowd more than any other sport.

Which is why Skysports are putting out their rousing, emotional adverts

Apart from watching Arsenal humiliation it was really quite shit. Even a game like City Arsenal seemed pretty dull even though a lot happened if that makes sense. Can see me just watching the big games and our matches. Villa Sheffield United was horrendous.

Not sure what you'd expect from teams that have had a 3 month lay off, players aren't going to be match fit and mentally the players would have suffered due to the pandemic.

That being said City took a while to get in their groove but for a team who haven't played in so long they were very impressive.

So does that go both ways? Does bad support create a negative performance?

I watch quite bit of footie with the sound off as the Mrs is often watching stuff and I'll have a non spurs game on the iPad. I have seen a lot of terrible, boring games with full capacity crowds.

I think it's some version of an addiction. Also there is so much media surrounding it that it's very hard to ignore. The other sports I like are mma/boxing and rugby. Unless you actually specifically go looking for news about those things you could easily forget they exist for most of the year.

Wonder if we use the NFL changing room for the away teams during our remaining fixtures? help keeps the teams apart Off the pitch etc. As just was reading an article on the athletic about what it’s going to be like for teams when they arrive at the grounds and how the tunnel /changing room areas are going to be very different places from the normal

apparently they are using 1 of them for us, and using ours for United I believe

Does the soundtrack have any “The Referee’s a wanker” chants ?

And what happens when Saints score?

I heard both NFL rooms are being used. And that this is the first game that teams will be coming out of different tunnels.

The Saints keeper socially distancing himself from his goal line.

Interestingly we have a 9 day break to Sheffield United. For them it will be their 4th game in 10 days. Not sure if that means they will be fitter or knackered lol.

I would have definitely missed that cheers. It shows how long it is since I watched sky I thought "renault super sunday" was motor bike racing or some thing when I saw it on the tv planner.

On the flipside we have 1 or 2 fewer days rest before the Everton, Bournemouth and Arsenal games.
