jokes about Liverpool aside (understand it is tough) the following are 2 reasonable steps:
1. Team in first place crowned champion across all the leagues
2. Teams in current CL/ EL slots get those for next season

Problem is promotion and relegation - can't really do it on a partial season. Perhaps prize money softens the blow?

You can’t use that formula for any of the above if you’re not giving relegation and promotion the same formula

There is no way they can solve the issue without it having a negative effect on someone. As hilarious as it would be if they void the season and Liverpool therefore don’t collect a title, they aren’t really the issue.
It’s the relegation spots that is going to get lawsuits rolling, the loss of revenue, tv money and everything else financial that comes with a relegation, similar issues with the Chanpionship teams coming the other way, imagine playing a Championship season and winning but not getting promoted and receiving the windfall that follows.
Obviously a similar issue with Champions League revenue as well.
They really have been painted into a corner by this virus.
I’m not so sure these clubs have that recourse with force majeur, it depends on whether there is a contract in place between clubs and authorities and whether there is a force majeur clause within it. Also whether a pandemic is cause enough to trigger that clause.

It may be that if the FA and Premier league decide to void the whole season, that all of the effected clubs won’t have a leg to stand on.

Got to page four of twelve but had to post so if it’s been mentioned I do apologise.
WWII in ‘39 saw the main league abandoned with all standings null and void and regional leagues were set up.
Personally I think this is unprecedented and comparable to then so if that’s what they done back then maybe they need to follow suit in 2020...

But it is quite a hard one (once we remove the spurs tinted glasses)
How do you not give this Liverpool team the title?
How do you just pop us back into the CL next season (after this utter shit show) and deny Leicester?
But similarly how do you relegate teams to the Championship knowing that one could have made it free?
But how do you not reward Leeds et al for an amazing season?
It's not easy. Scrap the season? Well, why not pick up where you left off in the late summer - have a mini break and then start a season where perhaps all the domestic cups are scrapped and CL/EL are shortened a bit?

Seen as Sheffield United were screwed over by West Ham and the PL years back - then sued them for it - I wonder where they would stand on this.

They would rightly feel they deserve European football, even if their target was just to stay in the league.

How about this.

CL and domestic leagues come to an agreement in which they have more qualification rounds to get into CL group stages. This would accommodate for all teams in and around the CL places in each league. Same for Europa. Any team who drops out of the CL qualification stages goes into the Europa qualifications as a second chance.

Obviously there is the mathematic issue (points) but they could limit it to teams within 10 points or there abouts of the places.

For relegation.

A play off between the top teams in the Championship and lower leagues - the top two getting an advantage over the others. No teams are relegated and the league accommodates more teams for one season only.

The question in my view isn't really what we do with this season.
It will finish, be that in June, August or even February next year.
Way too many issues if it doesn't.
In respect of transfer windows, these will just be adjusted to happen between the end of current season and start of next one, temporarily, out of contract players such as Jan, we could continue to play on a short-term contract basis.

The more realistic question is when will the season after the current one realistically start ?

Anyone who thinks it will be voided and we will have a free crack at another Champions League is just pie in the sky wishful thinking.
The transfer idea doesnt work. As it only works if all leagues follow suit. Otherwise you could get leagues that are scrapping and starting in august buying players in the prem who are half a season behind. If UEFA say that the CL is void and everyone who qualified for the group stage is in it next year that effectively forces the prem to void the season. As teams cant be seen to be putting profit over a worldwide pandemic they will find themselves without a sponsor real quick and will do more damage to the brand then good.

Having read the twelve pages and been very entertained by all the different possible scenarios, watching from a very different perspective I find it extraordinary and at the same time incredibly obvious that everyone has already accepted that the virus will bring everything to a stop in the UK until the summer (flus are normally a winter thing).

If the UK government put the country in quarantine for two weeks and the uptake was higher than the turnout for the election that voted Boris in, then the virus would be over, simples. In two weeks, everyone who has the virus would get beyond the transmission stage and everyone who doesn't have it would not get it. It's not that hard, if Boris could actually run a country. I wish you all the best of luck and vote for null and voiding so we get back in the CL and get Poch back but keep Jose too so we have the best management duo since Clough and Taylor.

I'm looking at the league table now trying to establish which teams would be in favour of nulling the season. No relegation, no champions, no CL places for those in it.

Us
Chelsea
City
Norwich
Villa
Bournemouth
Watford
West Ham
Brighton
Southampton
Newcastle
Burnley?
Palace?
Everton?

At most 14.

These teams are either in a stronger position, the same situation or couldn't care less if it was nulled.

What if the season ended as it is. Who would be in support?

Liverpool
Leicester
United? (dependent on 5th spot being in CL) their fans would be happy to see the title taken away from Pool.
Watford
West Ham
Brighton
Southampton
Newcastle
Everton?
Palace
Burnley? although they could still get Europa.

At most 11.

Same scenarios but who would be unsatisfied.

Nulled....

Liverpool
Leicester
Wolves
United
Sheff Utd

5 teams at most?

Finalised as it is...

Wolves
Sheff Utd
Spurs
Arsenal
Burnley
Bournemouth
Villa
Norwich

8 teams at most

If the PL had to choose in terms of legal possibilities then annuling may be the least damaging.
The first scenario you posed wolves would be for it as they would be back in europe again they could easily miss out. Arsenal also would be as Citys ban would still come into play so arsenal would also get CL. I suppose the league could get round this by awarding that place to leicester and say as City are banned we are giving their place to leicester. But only 4 teams wouldnt want the first option liverpool Leicester United sheff utd. I dont think the premier league will be able to make a decision. It will come down to UEFA and FIFA ultimately as if they decide who qualifies for next years tournaments is based on last season you might as well write off this season.

There are so many ramifications for this outbreak. Clubs could go out of business no income reduced sponsorship prize and tv money while still having to pay wages. you will have players out of contracts who could find themselves without clubs as whos going to sign someone when there is no clear time to restart. Also depends on uefa and fifa. Also leagues have to agree regionally. Europe would have to sync up for transfer windows and european comps. It will be interesting to see if UEFA relax FFP due to clubs financial difficulties but at the same time does that give some an advantage over others. Surely good businesses are ready for everything. The season has to complete or voided. Nothing in between can happen. Fully fit we are favs against Utd. Then 1 point behind 5th with 8 games to go. 5th would be a real possibility. Teams cant be relegated. My suggest and fairest thing would be. Void season. Prize money to date paid on positions. No relegation however next season double relegation and double promotion across all divisions. Would be a really good shake up for football as there are plenty of teams good enough to come up but always miss out. That would appease teams as the likes of west brom Leeds should finish top 6. And also teams in relegation zones would take it as gives them a chance. It seems the fairest way. No stupid playoff games as arsenal could go down and get CL if there was two different playoffs. Its unprecedented this whole situ. I just wonder what will happen financially. The prem will be refunding a lot of tv companies money and also there will be a lot of customers requesting cancellations. Can sky survive without sport for 4-6months will this see the TV money bubble burst as companies will be scrambling to recover losses. So much to happen. Will be interesting.

How do you not give this Liverpool team the title? - EASY, void season and dont finish season , everything is void
How do you just pop us back into the CL next season (after this utter shit show) and deny Leicester? - EASY - as season void season everything defaults to end of last season
But similarly how do you relegate teams to the Championship knowing that one could have made it free? - Easy season void therefore no promotion no relegations
But how do you not reward Leeds et al for an amazing season? - Easy - you dont and why care : no one cared when we were robbed by Scouse bought VAR officials in CL final last season, when we food poisoned in 2006' and robbed of CL, when Scum colluded with the Scouse (masonic links please google and resreach that its very intruiging) to have us kicked out of 1st Divison, Pedro Mendes Goal v UTD, i could really go on for a page but you get the gist ..... did leeds give a crap about us then ... No!! :)
It's not easy. Scrap the season? Well, why not pick up where you left off in the late summer - have a mini break and then start a season where perhaps all the domestic cups are scrapped and CL/EL are shortened a bit? - EUROS this summer so UEFA will want to line their pocket after missing out in CL revenues, they are selfish buggers.... Also Season is voided so are the managers and we start by default with POCH!!!!!! 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭
