There is a new addition to the VAR process for the 2024/25 to better inform supporters and viewers of the refereeing decisions being taken.

For the new campaign, which starts in earnest for us on Monday 19 August as we make the trip to newly promoted Leicester City (8pm kick-off), the Premier League will be providing near-live explainers and updates on operational and officiating matters for every Premier League match.

IMO VAR is the worst thing that's ever happened to football

(Not sure it’s the worst thing to happen to football. I think, under the radar somewhat, heading the ball has caused terrible damage. It should be banned. But that is another story, of course)

Just get it right within a minute or two, or let it go. Is that too much to ask?

They obviously understand just how unpopular VAR is but this isn't the solution. If VAR is ever to work it must get its judgements right and get it right quickly. At the moment it is taking all the pleasure out of the game with its errors and lengthy delays.

They won't allow live audio broadcasts of the decision making ? Cowards.
Rugby does it why can't football.

I doubt this new move will make things any better to be honest.
