But good to see most are not going for this.

I remember as a kid many being appalled at Sky starting to charge additional for the sports channels. Then they added PPVs.

As a kid one birthday I simply asked for tickets to see a Spurs game (mid 90s). Tickets were around £20 each. You could go see QPR in the Prem for £10.

Consumers really need to start saying no A short term boycott on all sport TV would achieve so much.

yeah, especially if it is popular because they’ll take advantage of the epidemic and will make any top 6 game against each other PPV going forward.

Isn't 39000 more than the average stadium size in the PL?

Yep. I don't see why they would change it. If they got 90,000 for United v Newcastle then that is more than then 52k Newcastle would of got in for their home game.

They will take the hit with the Burnley and Brighton's. They will just start putting some of the bigger teams on PPV more often.

I'm not going to lie I will be paying my £15 for Sunday night. I pay £20 for Boxing PPV so why would I not pay that for my first love?

Because it's very short sighted?

Things are much more expensive in the UK than here in the States, I guess because viewer demand for "soccer" is proportionately less than it is in the UK, at least so far.

Having moved here 4 years ago, I'm able to watch Spurs on TV much more than I ever did living in London, and most of it is significantly cheaper to access.

It's true that NBC puts more and more Premier League games behind a paywall each season. So to have access to all the season's games, you need to pay for NBC's Peacock Premium channel plus a subscription to a cable or satellite TV provider or streaming service to watch the games shown on NBCSN and NBC.

But at present Peacock Premium is only $5 per month, which is obviously a steal compared to £15 per game.

I fully expect this to escalate in future seasons, but at present Peacock Premium is only $5 per month, which is obviously a steal compared to £15 per game.

With peacock am I right in thinking they air around half the premier league games in a season?

This is it in a nutshell...they charge what they think people will pay.

PPV for UFC and the big boxing fights are ridiculous in the US aren't they?

Thanks for this. Do you happen to know where I can find a schedule for what future games they will be showing or do they not release such information until closer to game day?

Just logged in and checked their website. As far as I can see, they only list fixtures about ten days out. Spurs/Brighton coming up on Sunday, and they showed the Burnley game yesterday.

I'm not a big UFC guy, but yes, price looks pretty scary:

"Existing yearly ESPN+ subscribers will be able to purchase each UFC PPV event (streaming in HD) for $64.99."

Yeah I've seen closer to $100 for some boxing fights.
We tend to get them for around £20.

It's not a surprise that piracy is rife with the prices some broadcasters charge for sports.
