I don’t think it’s unfair to suspend him while they investigate as they have to ensure they investigate and having him involved in games would be awkward. Harsh for him, but due process must be followed.

Given his fairly questionable decision-making, it brings into doubt how fair he is when doing his job.

I get it is a job being a referee and many are professionals, but when rule interpretations in the game are so subjective, you need the refs to be as unbiased as possible. This raises the doubt levels significantly to the point you can't trust him at all.
