If the game is in the balance am expecting ange to make the difference via the subs, by subbing players off and not replacing them with anyone

I don't even think Arsenal would thank us if we manage to take points off City... they would say "look how stupid Spurs look again. Always ruining things for themselves... can't win the right games"... blah, blah, blah... 🤷‍♂️ ... so why would we fans care in the first place ?

Any Spurs fan that wants City to lose is literally an Arsenal fan, as it hands them the title. 🤪
This is bollocks. I just want my team to win, thats all. We still have a chance at qualifying for something better than we're currently going to get.

If Arsenal win the league on the way, then its meant to be - this is nothing to do with us.

Agree. If Villa don’t win tonight and we beat City we will be within one or two points of a Champions League place with one match left to play.

Then we have Sheffield United who have lost their last six matches, whilst Villa have Crystal Palace who have won five and drawn one of their last six matches.

That’s a lot of ifs but it’s plausible that Villa fail to win both matches, and that there is everything to play for versus City.

Exactly,

This is why people call us a small club, most are totally invested in seeing Arsenal fail, even if its at our expense. Yes, I understand the rivalry, I hate the ****s, we all want them to fail, but that cannot just depend on us. They would win the league across 38 games. We had the chance to dent their hopes the other week, thats too late now.

I'm sure Ange will no doubt make sure we go all out to beat City. I hope we win providing Villa drop points tonight.

So if Villa win tonight then you’ll still be hoping for win for us on Tuesday? So we can really cement 5th place and help Arsenal win the title?

My opinion is totally based on whilst the opportunity for CL is there. So if Villa win tonight, I agree with you.

Fair enough, can’t argue with that. Still it’ll be a rough time for football, Arsenal fans are already some of the worst people on the planet. They win the title with Arteta in charge - that’s doomsday material.

It’s a tricky one, because as another poster mentioned we had the opportunity to damage Arsenal’s title chances and we didn’t take that opportunity. Now lots of us are talking about wanting to lose this match even while there is still a real possibility of finishing fourth.

Probably some of the same people who have been complaining about Ange’s “suicide” tactics and our “relegation form” are hoping we lose a match and sabotage our chances of finishing in the top four. And let’s not forget we have only finished in the top four a handful of times during the last thirty years. It’s still a big deal for us.

Don’t get me wrong, I will hate it if Arsenal win the league but our progress is more important to me than their success or failure. Maybe they’ll win the league next season anyway.

I had a nightmare that we beat city, aston villa lose against pool and palace and then we lose against sheff utd on the final day. So we hand arsenal the title and still botch the champions league spot. Please dont do this to me to Tottenham!

If 4th is up for the grabs the players would be hugely motivated to win. They want to play in the CL and the bonuses that comes with it

Majority/all don't care if the scum win the league. Only the fans do

So I'm confident if villa win tonight the players will not be motivated to win

I’m taking the fact that our 2-2 draw at the pit back in September is likely to be the game that costs them the title.

I never thought about that, but yeah, if they miss out on the league by two points, which is quite possible, and they have a superior goal difference, which they currently do, then those two points dropped will be highly significant.

Are there any other examples of team's actively cheering opposition goals as it helps their rivals?

I can't imagine many at the stadium tomorrow will do that (and I won't be for one) but be nice to have some ammunition to throw back at rival fans who are accusing Spurs specifically of having a bad mentality when it comes to this stuff.
