Rodgers getting the best out of his players.
Hes very good at it.

Leicester are a superb side to watch. Credit where it's due, slab head who?

Not sure how they'll cope with a few key Injuries, but it seems Brendan R is blooding in new players frequently off the bench. A very good coach.

It's fucking depressing when you realise Leicester beat us to the league title and now three years on we're waiting on most of the same players from that season to finally get over the line for a trophy of any sort, whereas they have pretty much rebuilt their side and overtaken us again.

Levy fucking about, poch being preposterously stubborn, and a years delayed stadium all combined for a perfect storm of complete shit.

I agree to a certain extent. But, Leicester haven't followed the same route. They haven't tried to develop their stadium etc, that was always going to be a massive set back. They're a scary good side.

I think Leicester will do very well this year but my struggle a bit next season. Don’t think their squad will cope with the extra European games unless they sign a few in the summer. Also have a feeling that Rodgers works wonders up to a point, then things start to change as he rubs people up the wrong way like at Liverpool. He might have learnt from that though

It’s fucking depressing watching them play yesterday and comparing it to us. We used to be like that, now we are nothing like as alive, exciting or competent.

The thing I dont understand, by comparison, is the lack of energy spurs play with. All energy seems to have Withered away. Strange.

Suggests Liverpool and Leicester have been lucky so far. Or extremely clinical. Man City, Man Utd and Everton have been unlucky - expect them to do better as season progresses.

Us and Arsenal have been about right. Chelsea too.

Overtaken us is a bit strong. If they finish above us this season it’ll be the second time they’ve done that in 15 years. One year they finished above everyone. It’ll be short term

It’s true they’ve rebuilt quickly and effectively. But they have been lucky so far. When you look at xG, xC and xPts they should only be on 3 more points than us. Over the course of a season that luck should run out.

On the surface it looks like luck. But a healthy and positive environment can turn these things in your favour. For example, Vardy believes he only needs one chance to score, so he does. Kane is probably low on his usual confidence which means he's not taking as many shots.

xG is a median, good players consisteltly outperform xG and poorer players consistently underperform xG. Suggestions that Liverpool and Leicester are lucky can just as easily be countered with "but they have good players who are playing with confidence."

Interesting. Im new (late) to this.

When you look at final tables the picture is messy. But clearly I cannot draw the conclusion that some teas are lucky or unlucky based on xPts.

I don't think the Leicester players individually are anything amazing. It's just that I'd say they were so delighted to be free of Puel and also they got a revitalised Rodgers coming from a wonderful stint at Celtic. Also Rodgers has been clever enough to give a lot of love to Vardy and play to his strengths. Basically they're a happy bunch and love playing for Rodgers. Makes a big difference.
