How much money are we likely to promise Franks?

100m? Plus sales?

I think in priority order

1. Genuine 6. Wharton would be a great choice. 70m
2. A creative midfielder. Eze. 60m
3. Left Back. KWP. Free
4. Winger. Mbeumo would be great. Semenyo would be a great alternative. 60m

So that is close to 200m

Sales wise...
- Romero if he wants to go. At which point he will need to be replaced. 50m
- Bentancur (I know it is likely to be Bissouma). 25m
- Richy. 40m
- Sarr. 25m

So maybe 140m, but then we need a new centre back first choice Branthwaite (70m)

Budget - 100m

Transfers out - 140m (assuming Romero goes)
Transfers in - 260m

My head hurts, just not sure how we get all the business done. There will definitely have to be compromise.

With the early window closing, I think that gives Frank and his staff a few weeks to do an initial assessment of the squad.

We seem to be focused on a starting caliber forward regardless of anything else.

As for the midfield - I think Frank can offer his input here - where does he see Gray? Where does he see Kulusevski.

If the season started tomorrow, and everyone were healthy - I would expect a double pivot of Bentancur and Bergvall playing behind Maddison.

So, that leaves Sarr and Gray to back-up Bergvall/Bentancur, and probably Bissouma on the outside looking in - but Bissouma could also be rejuvenated by playing in a double pivot instead of as a lone holding MF. IF Sarr and/or Gray are not ready for that role - then an experienced CM would be nice to have.

If Kulusevski is not in the mix for the 10 role, then I would probably want to look for Maddison competition more than a DM.

Defenders - need a LB to compete with Udogie. Need to figure out if Romero is staying - replace as necessary, and I might be inclined to replace Dragusin, even if he can't be sold this summer. Ideally a LCB.

One more name that I knew nothing about before a day or two ago, and it's probably still a bit early for him, is Caleb Yirenkyi at Nordsjaelland in Denmark. Who knows, maybe Lange/Frank will have connections there.

He's bursting on the scene this season, is only 19, and has two caps now for Ghana. I know comps only show potential strengths, but he seems to really play years ahead of his age at that position. Fast thinker, keeps things extremely simple, 1-2 touch and has some great athletic attributes to cover ground around. He's gained attention because he put up big performances against Midtjylland and Brondby.

Here's the comp I saw on X from a spurs fan sending it in to Nathan Clark:

I really hope you're right about players like Wharton and Eze coming in but I just can't see it happening for all the same, old reasons.

Shocking game tonight but Eze was head and shoulders above every other England player on the pitch. I’ve seen enough now to want us to go all out for him, £60m is actually looking like a really good price.

He's got "it" and is such a Spurs player. Flair, talent, unconventional, creative, inventive and hitting his peak.

I don't actually know who is in charge, but if they could get this done please, that'd be great.

yup, just perfect for us. Him and someone like Wharton would transform us. Given the scouse are about to drop £120m on wirtz, if we did the same for eze and Wharton it would close the gap dramatically

Absolutely no chance as Levy has no interest in competing now, always jam tomorrow.

But historically, this type of player is why I support Spurs.

No doubt about it, Eze and Wharton would be transformative signings for us.

We desperately need more passers in the makeup of our squad and this has to be at the forefront of our recruitment this summer.

If Frank does decide to go with a double pivot then Lamine Camara would round our midfield out nicely by replacing Bissouma.

Yep, with a year left Bissouma has to be the one to make way, we need a real technical upgrade in that position.

It’s so reasonable. Bournemouth want 70 for semenyo. Eze is 10x the player. 60M is a steal for him. It’s such a no brainer. I know it’s upfront who cares

Now we’re shopping at the top table again, who do you want us to get?

We need to upgrade the starting 11, especially in terms of creativity but also add a more solid strength in depth.

In

Eze - The cheeky grin when the fans the other week were bantering about him joining has me convinced, he’s exactly what we need.

Ederson - I wanted him last year too so not getting my hopes up but we need a 6.

Sesko - We need a star striker. If we had a chance for Sesko or Gyokeres now we have have CL we should try. I feel Sesko is more gettable.

Tel - Seem enough to be convinced he’ll grow into a great player for us but not at the 60m mark yet. If a deal can be done, we should keep.

Guehi - If Romero goes, a Palace double swoop.
Cardoso - We might have better options now but he’s looked decent and there’s a deal to be done there

Bisseck - Even with Vuskovic coming in, we need more cover there and I think he’s an upgrade on current cover.

Out

Richarlison - MotM for me in the final and fine if we keep him but I reckon Everton would happily pay to take him back and we can upgrade.

Solomon - Someone will pay decent money

Werner - No explanation needed

Romero - I want him to stay and think there’s a chance but Levy’s going to need to smash the wage structure keep him.

Biss - Time to move him on as just too unreliable

Davies - Unless we want to transition him into coaching, I think he leaves on a high with a medal

Dragusin - Maybe we need to give him more of a chance but he’s not convinced at all and was only an ok option when we were in the Europa, not CL quality.

I reckon that’s 3 upgrades to starting 11 and better depth throughout.

Your turn!

Hah at davies. Levy will keep him because he’s cheap and he can lean on his service to try and pull the wool over our eyes that he is (a wonderful guy but) an average at best footballer

you do know levy is still in charge right?

He's guaranteed goals and creativity in the PL which is well worth the price.

Also, he's a brilliant lad and would fir in the dressing room well.

These are the players you spend on.

If we are willing to spend 60 on Richy and 50 on Johnson, you should easily do that (although I guess the issue is one lump sum)

I really liked watching Elanga this year. Would like someone like that.
It would probably take a small fortune to get him out of Forest but I rate him massively.
Incredible acceleration and speed, as well as good technical ability and an eye for goal. He’s still getting better every season as well.

CAA Base player too, so the deal should be do-able, just need to pull our finger out.

Yeah I wasn't sure if he would be needed, but last night reaffirmed to me how good he is. He'd be an amazing acquisition if possible. He can play in so many different formations too.
