I mentioned it before the game - but, I am not sure that Forster brings much value any more. I would not say he is our 2nd best keeper on merit. Experienced - yes. But, not sure he is really the 2nd best option.
Think Tom Heaton for England. Pays to have these senior pros around the team.

Another good run out more minutes in the legs against better opposition. Thought Spence did well at times, and i thought he was too standoffish and passive in others. I'd be holding off selling him straight away though, and see what he gives against better opposition. Still far from convinced but he's doing some things right for sure. He's not a better choice to start Prem than Porro yet though just based off these showings as I've seen mentioned.
We will see how the rest of pre-season goes but judging on his performances so far he certainly deserves to be at least back up to Porro. He could save us some money that will be required in other areas and he is home grown.

Oh - I agree - I think he can play as a back-up here - but more realistically a lower level PL team.

I don't think he is challenging Porro for minutes - but I think his effort shows a level of maturity that I had not seen in the last couple of pre-seasons. He is also older than many of the players he is playing with and against so that helps - but I think his play in these two games has really helped Spurs - either as a back-up option, or building his value for a sale.
Yeah I agree to a point. I watched him with a lot of interest today because of the hype against Hearts and like I say he did something's very well and other bits still concerned me.

I thought going forward he was good, as I expected. I know he's got that in his locker. I was also pleased to see him sprint back and make that block on the cross, another tick.

However, I felt when QPR were building pressure and targeting our right hand side he was far from aggressive enough. Not out quick enough to the wide man, and was happier to just sit in and let Devine come back to deal with it, rather than doubling up and pressuring the ball. He's also for me not aggressive enough in the air considering his size, and looks to the second ball rather than putting pressure on the opposition player to affect the first contact.

Some encouraging signs but still some way to go for me.

What are peoples thoughts of Solomon in general and in comparison to Werner?
I've not really ever seen it with him to be fair.
At Fulham he did have a decent feint inside form the left wing and then shoot but at the start of last season I was a little bemused. I thought he had a good game away at Burnley when he ran at and committed the defenders although I remember the movement around him was pretty good that day too

What are peoples thoughts of Solomon in general and in comparison to Werner?
A little different.

Werner is north-south - get to the line, and fire in a cross - generally does a good job getting the ball into dangerous areas.

Solomon has a bit more wiggle in his game - he has more potential to cut in, or take on a player - but less thrilled with his end product.

What are peoples thoughts of Solomon in general and in comparison to Werner?
Ineffective. Werner at least provides on the sheet, Solomon doesn't really do much other than look busy. In his defence, he's played like 90 minutes since September so I'd give him some more time.

It's not that simple though mate. I agree going forward you are absolutely correct, but he's a full back. If he's not at it from a defensive pov he shouldn't be the back up for anyone.

Let's see how he gets on against better teams first.

Just odd that he got a very good assist and your first thought is he should’ve crossed it with his left foot
Odd? I’m Interested in his potential to develop, and a good left foot on a right-handed would be valuable, dontcha think? It would definitely improve Madders.

Soloman is pretty average at best IMO, really don't see him contributing much. He has been out injured a long time, personally I would loan him out because he needs games.
Think Werner will contribute more because of his assists.

Hard to be overly critical of him considering he's returning from a long lay-off, but if I were to assess regardless, I would say Werner looks the much more effective wide player as he seems to have quite a bit greater of an ability to beat his man, go down the line and get a cross in. Solomon seems mostly comfortable coming inside all the time and when he does I can't say he often does anything greatly significant with the ball.

Ange has talked about wanting players with different strengths and he's not a head down, speed to the end and cross. We could do with a bit of chaos in the forward areas sometimes as otherwise I worry we can be a bit formulaic.

Difficult to say how good or bad he is at it though due to injuries and now returning from a long lay off.
