Another good run out more minutes in the legs against better opposition. Thought Spence did well at times, and i thought he was too standoffish and passive in others. I'd be holding off selling him straight away though, and see what he gives against better opposition. Still far from convinced but he's doing some things right for sure. He's not a better choice to start Prem than Porro yet though just based off these showings as I've seen mentioned.

Much tougher test than Wednesday. QPR noticeably quicker and more physical, and would have done a lot of them far more good than the Hearts game.

Pleased to see Scarlett get his goal after his obvious disappointment of not scoring the other night.

We should give these kids the chance

. Do we need Ramsey or should we just give Devine a chance?

Spence looks good. Gray is ready etc

Need to trim the squad as much as anything.

It's preseason, and he's coming back from injury, but I don't see what Solomon brings to this team. I'd be disappointed if he's the option we have to turn to off the bench by the time the season starts.

Similarly, I'm not convinced at all by Veliz. He has a chaos factor, true, but seems to lack finesse
Solomon fits the system even less than Deki. His first thought is cut inside and if poss, have a shot, or pass it inside. Ange just wants them to hit the by line and fire it across.
We obviously bought him cos he was a Bosman . Be surprised if he’s still here next summer.

I think 2 or 3 of the kids slotting into the main team for EL games feels pretty doable - not the old way of a totally different team for that competition of all fringe players.

The youngsters will have more chance of succeeding if surrounded by quality and cohesion.

LoCelso and Pierre will go. If Skipp goes as well then Alfie will not suffer by comparison with Dkipp. Lot more assured on the ball

Be very interesting to see what we decide to do with Devine next season. He has looked very assured in possession in that midfield. The only thing is he will need plenty of game time so ultimately a loan might end up being for the best but ether way he has impressed.

I mentioned it before the game - but, I am not sure that Forster brings much value any more. I would not say he is our 2nd best keeper on merit. Experienced - yes. But, not sure he is really the 2nd best option.

I agree and I think we have enough quality in that group that we can mix and match to get quite a few some minutes.

Experience is a big thing though mate. I don't always think loans are the right thing for every young player but I do with keepers. All keepers should be getting minutes in men's football early as the can because getting them used to the rough and tumble is important.

"This level" was the Championship, and mostly second string championship players at that. He's on the right track but keep some perspective.
Oh - I agree - I think he can play as a back-up here - but more realistically a lower level PL team.

I don't think he is challenging Porro for minutes - but I think his effort shows a level of maturity that I had not seen in the last couple of pre-seasons. He is also older than many of the players he is playing with and against so that helps - but I think his play in these two games has really helped Spurs - either as a back-up option, or building his value for a sale.

Today was more of a mixed bag from some of the youth. Super impressed with Gunter and Devine especially.

Agree. He certainly needs to close down defenders faster when set, like you say he stood off a few times allowing the cross but I do think there is a lot to work with and certainly some very positive aspects especially in possession. If he can put the effort in to improve and refine his game he could be an excellent understudy for Porro, a ways to go yet but encouraging none the less.
