To me he seems rushed currently like he's over thinking everything. I'd put him in Belgium or Holland for the season in the hope he'll score a shit load and develop as a player, whatever happens with him he needs a loan where he'll play, score and progress.
Do Excelsior need another Spurs striker now that Parrott has moved on? Totally agree Scarlett needs a good loan where he play regularly and regain his self-belief and happiness.

Wonder if it's more beneficial to keep lankshear with us rather than loan him out

It's a big call

Not sure the Dutch second tier is the best league for him to go at such a crucial point in his development.

I'd be offering him out to any top-half Championship club who look like they'd actually have any intention of using him, providing their style suits him. It's getting to a point where we desperately need to know what he's made of in a competitive environment.

Not sure a top-half championship team would take him or play him after a couple of unimpressive loan spells.

He needs to go to any team that will actually start him whether that is lower Championship or top of League One.

Probably our best (currently not injured) striker available 😂 so we really kinda need to keep him for now at least.

And?

Again having watched as much as I can of him I don't see it. As I've said many times when I'm scouting I don't look at stats or media reports etc, I watch players, and I just don't see anything special with this kid. Watching a striker with real quality, something will always stand out even when they are way off their best. Even if it's something simple like how they take the ball on the half turn in crowded areas, or how they are checking their surroundings before moving late into space. I look for the simple things because for me the very best players are the ones who do the very simple things the best.

Just don't see it in Veliz regardless of what hype he had in Argentina. Only time will tell I guess, but I would be surprised if he's anywhere near Lankshear in a few years.
What’s your opinion, your feel, on Lankshear? I don’t have your professional eye but there’s something about this young man, more than the obvious, isn’t there?

I dunno, lad seems to put himself about. He hasn’t had enough time to show his quality really.

So, do we think there'll be 25 players involved again tomorrow?
The U21s have a game tomorrow as well so there might be a few from the 2nd half on Wednesday playing in that instead to get more than 45 minutes. But I’d still expect us to change most if not all of the starting XI at halftime tomorrow. Still very early in preseason.

I think it will be close. I don't think we see the "starters" going longer until the Asia trip. Its still early into the summer so I don't think Ange will be putting more minutes into the legs just yet - but we shall see.

Yeah, but putting yourself about isn't enough at the very top level.
Obviously entitled to your opinion, but I completely disagree. Think he always looks lively and a handful, maybe a little over eager, but plenty to work with. No one was suggesting Lankshear at this level 12 months ago, very few were even 6 months ago.

The lad has played 45 mins in the PL and has scored 1 goal, that's 76 goals across an entire season, so better than Kane.

All jokes aside, not many players have scored 17 goals in the Argentine league at 19. Even Laurato Martinez had only scored 9 in that league at 19 and didn't hit double figures until he was 20.

Yeah, I think patience has to work both ways. If we can’t rush to form a judgement and get excited about our youngsters after a 45 min showing in a preseason friendly then I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss someone based off a handful of sub appearances either.

Veliz actually has a track record to speak of and he managed to score in his one PL appearance where he had enough time to make an impact (20 mins vs Brighton). I haven’t seen anything to get excited about yet but surely he deserves the benefit of the doubt as much as anyone, if not more so?
