"Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose, Serge Aurier and Victor Wanyama were determined to force moves away and uncertainty stalked Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen who, like Eriksen, have entered the final year on their contracts."

We know this to be bullshit. The club wanted Rose to find a new club. Wanyama and Aurier were surplus to requirements, for differing reasons.

After this paragraph, it's difficult to take the article seriously. Even the Guardian writes malicious, shit-stirring, counterfactual articles.

Lmao I doubt Wanyama would need to force a move away. We'd drive him there ourselves.

What a misleading article.

“Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose, Serge Aurier and Victor Wanyama were determined to force moves away”

They were players we were trying to sell!

Wanyama showed his clear determination to force a move away by turning down a move that Levy had been negotiating for weeks.

Club Bruges offered £10M for Wanyama, but it was the player who refused the move. So much for "determined to force moves away".
