I wouldn't say the top two are over the horizon as of yet.

We've been hampered by the Eriksen saga, Verts, Ndombele and Lo Celso adjustment/fitness. Add to this Son's two game ban, we've actually picked up a couple of handy points away all things considered.

Liverpool still have to go to City, play us. What if the unthinkable happened and they got 3-4 starting eleven injuries. Or could only field their strongest eleven for 1/4 of the season.

Will it be hard to overtake...no doubt.

Out of sight...no way.

No-one is out of sight after four games but we need to go on a monster run of about 17/18 wins in 20 to have any chance. All about what we do next.

City dropped 14 points 17/18
And 16 points 18/19

We’ve already dropped 8 points after just 4 games. Three at home to Newcastle.

Last season Liverpool beat all of the bottom 10 teams Home and Away. A full 60!

Using the City numbers we can drop 8 more points Max over the next 34 games. That’s one hell of a run. One defeat and five draws. If we lose two we can have just two drawers.

Our form is 15 points from 15 games.

Add to that We have no functioning style and system, no set formation, players are running contracts down, we have a hacked off manager. We have a stack of injuries And our players are wrecked come May.

The Top two are on a different level right now. End off

Top four will be a battle on current viewings

Liverpool and City are several points clear and simply based on their performances last season makes most believe they are unlikely to drop points this season.

We need to forget “catching” or “chasing” down those teams and just put a run together. Spurs need to win consecutive matches and start putting in some decent performances whilst doing that.

Then and only then after the turn of the year can we realistically see if we are anywhere near the top of the table.
