Agree with Poch. Perfectly OK with fans having fun with the nutmeg, but it´s a lack of class to show it off in three different posts on the official social media accounts.

Nothing wrong with it. Skillful, effective play. If you've got the skill, flaunt it. It's not like he was deliberately rubbing Townsend's nose in it.

Poch didn't say anything negative about the fact that Lamela nutmegged Townsend. He just didn't get a pants tent out of it like the fans did.

It's a very odd view. Football is within the entertainment industry, and sexy nutmegs are entertainment, so they are perfectly relevant. It's like saying after a concert "yeah, I understand why fans like to see encore, but for me I don't rate it".

Instinctive and intuitive, great skill and absolutely no problem with it. Can't believe it's causing so much discussion - can you imagine if GHod was playing now!

If you can nutmeg someone, you should nutmeg someone.

Sorry that it happened to Andros, but like I told my sister-in-law - if you kept your legs closed, these things would not happen.

Don't see a problem with it, it's a skill and he makes it looks so easy, if we get an advantage from it then what's the issue?

I asked Poch a couple of questions about Lamela's contract and that nutmeg today during his press conference. Safe to say he wasn't a fan of the latter. Here are his answers.
Very intrigued by this- usually Poch is quite calm about transfers as if they aren't a big deal, but he really seems intent on signing a few players:

Pochettino was also asked about speculation that Lamela could be set for a new deal after his fine performances in the last 12 months.

"A lot of rumours. We need to wait to see what happens in the next few days," he said.

"We are very focused on trying to add some players. I think we are more focused now on trying to improve our squad than trying to improve the contracts of our players."

I don't like the timing of that comment coinciding with Zaha's agent saying that we bid for him.

What do you mean?
I mean Poch saying we are very focused on adding players and at the same time, we appear to have a bid rejected for Zaha, which make it seem like we really are after Zaha and it isn't just an agent trying to get his client a pay rise.

Look at Lamela's face afterwards, not fazed at all, not rubbing it in, just going on with his game.
It was the effective and correct path to take the ball, when he has the skills and vision for it why not

he might not of been totally happy with it, but deep down I'm sure he would rather him do that than get the ball taken off his feet, and Palace go on a counter.

wonder if a little dig was made after the match, Townsend was definitely gutted

“I thought ‘Erik, why did you do that?’ It was brilliant to watch. I just wish it was against another player and not Andros,” Rose said. “I didn’t realize I put my hands on my head until afterwards. It was a brilliant nutmeg. When Andros was here, he always used to get nutmegged five or six times in a training session. I was actually thinking throughout the game that he’s done well not to get nutmegged today and Erik did that. It was brilliant. So, sorry Andros...”
