As much as I'm still a pochmainer, I would love to understand why he persists with Eriksen.
From yesterdays game.

Whilst I appreciate 1 game doesn't give the whole picture, it does point to a complete lack of substance to his game. It's hardly the first time.

For me, this is the most baffling thing. I just can't understand it. The faith he puts in a player that is not doing anything to help him out. Is it some.sort of instruction? A new way of playing? I dont get it.

So after yesterday’s game, and 1,020 votes cast, the margin is narrowing yet further, with another slight uptick in those thinking that Poch should now vacate the manager’s job, up to 40.9%

The margin now stands at 18.2%

I have to admit, I’m finding increasingly difficult to stand by my original vote. I think the only thing that is acting as a brake is the fear over the efficacy of any potential replacement. Even that is being eroded however, given that I can’t see us doing any worse than we are currently.

Still #pochin. I just think medium-long term we will regret it if he goes. The Jol to Ramos era still haunts me I guess.

(By medium to long term, I don't mean 10 matches....)

That is it precisely for me too - the Jol to Ramos change.

I wanted BMJ to stay. I was at the Getafe game when he was sacked and the horror of that still lives with me. At the time, after Ramos came in and we won the League Cup, I thought that maybe we'd made a good, if difficult, choice - and then it all went to shit.

I'm terrified of history repeating itself. But at the same time, how long can we continue like this?

That Getafe game was one of the very few occasions that football made me cry. IIRC the fans were still singing his name, he had tears in his eyes, and we all knew what was imminent.

It feels to me as we are currently between a rock and a hard place. I don't subscribe to the assertion that its as simple as getting Mourinho in and everything is peachy. I do however subscribe to the fact that Poch has given me some of my favourite and most memorable Spurs supporting moments, and to throw that all away after a shitty few months (or as the revisionists would have it, 2 full seasons now!) smacks of short-termism to me. Of course I also understand that football is a results orientated business and that rightly or wrongly, the manager is the one who will carry the can when things go belly up.

I had given Poch the benefit of doubt, until yesterday.
Not subbing Eriksen was just a mind fuck!! What the hell is going on in Poch's head?!!!

Yes the whole Eriksen scenario is baffling. I think the only explanation is that it is a confidence issue rather than a "cant be arsed" one and he is trying to play him back into form, having been one of our most influential players for the best part of 5 years.

I do wonder if there's a certain amount of giving Eriksen the rope to hang himself with or whatever the expression is. By that I mean maybe Poch has let him play for a while to demonstrate how poor his effort is so that he can just stick him in the reserves or whatever and there will be no complaints from anyone, even people who are on Eriksen's side.

The team is in transition, people. It could have been more of an evolution but we are where we are. Who best to rebuild it? Poch who built the best team we've had in decades and who identifies with the club. If we sack him we'll most likely be like Arsenal with an Emery in 12 months.

I don't think Poch needs to convince us all how disgracefully Eriksen has acted on the pitch, the evidence is there for all to see.

Why are we always in transition?

Strange how some people are so firmly behind Poch but be so opposed to Eriksen. Poch is the one who keeps picking him. Its like the ultimate self-sabotage week in and week out...total head-fuck.

I am int he pochin camp but it is increasingly edging towards pochout

The thing is if we are going to be pochin then its got to be not just for a few games but we need to ride this season out and stand by him going forward. Need to accept this season for what it is - a season where we regress but knowing that things will get better with a few transfers in and some of those gone.

This wont change in one or two games, it will be a season of inconsistency and regression in my view.

I wonder how the voting would be affected if he’d ditched the out of contract players and those who have proven not good enough and was starting something like this every week?

Gazza
KWP Sanchez Foyth Davies
Sissoko Ndombele
Lamela Lo Celso Son
Kane

Even if results this season were not that good, I could stomach it knowing we were building towards something. At the moment, what are we trying to accomplish? It’s hard to work out.

I’d really love to know what it is that people think is going to change if he continues. For all the fear of us getting worse under someone else, we aren’t going to get any better under him at the moment, so what’s the difference?

I honestly feel that we could get relegated, and some would still not want him gone because of how they felt in 15/16, or in May/June this year. The truth is he’s done very well, but he’s also missed some very good opportunities to do even better, and the team is now is now in decline under him. He’s got to go, and go soon.

Bolded is the key. He turned us from perennial Europa league to perennial CL. It's going belly up at the moment but I don't believe its irretrievable. Things change, and that change is not a one way street.

Well clearly it wasn't the win of the most inconsequential silverware that was so haunting, and you know it. The decision to sack Jol and hire the flavour of the month was.

Not that I'm one to turn my nose up at any trophy success, but come on. It barely registered in the big scheme of things.
