AvB vs. Poch: results in their final year at Spurs

It might be worth taking a look at the points tally of Poch compared to AvB when he got sacked. Though it doesnt tell the entore story, it is certainly interesting and enlightening.

When AvB was sacked, he had accomplished 27poinst in the first 16 games (avg. 1.7) of the season. In total he had 63pts in 34 (avg. 1.9) in 2013.
After the first 8 games this season we have at 11pts (1.4p/g), with our 2019 total at 37pts in 26 (1.4p/g).

If we were to compare the two at the same stage of the season, it looks much worse. After 8 games played of 2013/14 season, AvB had 16pts (2.0p/g)

If we tally those up:
AvB 13/14: 27p/16g = 1.7p/g
(Or 16p/8g = 2p/g)
Poch 19/20: 11p/8g = 1.4p/g

AvB 2013: 63p/34g = 1.9p/g
(Or 52p/26g = 2.0p/g)
Poch 2019: 37p/26g = 1.4p/g

It is of course worth mentioning the CL-run in any comparison, but even then I would say we were better under AvB than we have been since christmas.

Ps. Did this on my phone - might have some errors.

Can you prove that? If we're talking rationality...?

I very much doubt that Levy will take his decision based on a straw poll done on a single internet forum - even one as good as SC...
Dissenting to what?
It's already more than that. 1/3 is 33%. Of those who've voted, 38% think he should go...
Sorry, I misread your post and I hadn't voted so the percentages were not clear to me.
I tend to back the managers, but asking to do this immediately after our record defeat is a big ask.

I've voted now as the players clearly want him out.
And as I said before, if over 1/3 want him gone, there is no coming back.
Fans are fighting each other now. It has gone too far.

If Poch survives this, Levy must stop fucking about this January and weed out the players Poch wants out regardless of losing money on them,
Poch imo deserves that from us, after that if we don't improve than there will be no way back for him, but he deserves that imo
Changing your coach isn't always the answer, he has been great for us for four seasons to just chuck him.

Today was when we got to see whether Poch could get a reaction and he clearly can't. Eriksen, Toby and Jan need to take some blame but the majority needs to fall on the person who keeps picking them. Today was the time for change and Poch bottled it. Have changed my vote, POCH OUT!!!
I don't see how you can blame 3 players for the whole team playing so badly? If the group were playing well but individual errors from those guys were losing us points then fair enough, but everyone looks clueless, that's on the guy in charge.

Lots of players have run contracts down before, and lots have excelled in their final year. Hazard knew he was leaving Chelsea and look at his performances last year.

If Poch goes we need a high profile manager, someone the players will both fear and respect. Someone like Howe albeit potential hasn’t done anything of note. Whereas Allegri won the Italian league 5 years in a row and built up a superb Juventus squad consisting of all ages from youth to veterans and utilised the squad as a whole as opposed to Poch refusing to drop his grossly out of form favourites. People can criticise Allegri for being defensive minded but he’s a proven winner and Juve are a bloody good side with a wealth of quality attacking players.

I said Poch needs to take the majority of the blame, so pretty much agree with what you just said. Are any of the three putting in Hazard or Ramsay levels of performance though. If they were then fair enough, but as they aren't then I'd prefer players who are committed to take their place. As it stands Sanchez, Dele, Moura and Foyth must be getting frustrated so who says they won't also look to leave. Before you know it we have nearly a whole team to replace.

Problem is Levy and losing money are not words you often hear together in the same sentence.

It's simple when you look at it, players want out or are actively wanted out by Poch but are still playing in front of others who are committed and 'wanted' at the club.

Poch's biggest failing is forgetting what gave him his initial success when he first joined.

Drop all players who dont want to be here, in 6 weeks time they may have a different viewpoint and suddenly start playing how they used to.

Sacking Poch = circa £30m pay off. A lot of money but not in the context of having a horror season, missing out of the Champions League riches and costing us a potential quality sponsor... never mind any further star players whom will want to leave. Keeping him when the players no longer believe in him will only end one way, in a disaster.

Agree. Thats what being brave would look like. Drop the players that don't want to be here. Fans could get behind that as they would understand what he would be trying to do. Instead he is doing the opposite and its had a massively negative effect.

We've lost 18 of our last 40 games. That's basically losing every other game. He's lucky he's still in the job.

The real concern is what the dressing room is like. It must be pretty negative if today is anything to go by.
