Hey guys. Sorry to bother you. I am a Spursfan from Germany. I am new to this forum and I already love it. I have got a question and hope that somebody could maybe help me. I was asked by my math teacher about the melody of the song of Son. The "He'll shoot, (...)" one. Does somebody know the melody or does anyone know the link to the melody? I already looked it up on YouTube and Twitter but couldn't find it.
Thank you for your help.

It's the old Ji Sung Park song. I think the melody is the old Boy Scout song in the Quarter Master's Stores.

I am not positive though.

I tell you what, if you’re really a spurs fan, why not try not singing a racist song about one of our players?

And to others, please don’t help this poster (or his maths teacher ffs) sing a racist song about Sonny.

The song you need - as sung every week by Spurs fans at the stadium who love Sonny and don’t want to encourage racism at the football - is “Nice one, Sonny...” To the tune of Nice one Cyril.

Don’t sing racist songs. About anyone.

Wow, you learn something everyday. I’ve never paid attention to songs sang at games.
I guess it’s the opposition fans signing these songs?
So my next question is, where are the stewards? Should they not be ejecting these fans immediately.
Funny though, I remember when we beat Man City to get into the top 4 some seasons ago, I think Crouch scored the winner. Before the game, the PA system was blasting out the song (Black Eye Peas I think)..... I got a feeling....tonight’s gonna be a good night...

I remember saying at the time, that tune had me believing we could win the game and we did!!

I can understand why you are thinking like this. I also don't support racism. I don't want to sing it or do anything with it. We just want to know the melody. My math teacher and I are always making jokes about our teams (he loves FC Bayern München) we are just making jokes nothing else so no need to worry about.

Fucking hell. If I've understood correctly, all he's asking what the tune is originally from. The same tune is used in loads of different chants, the vast majority of which aren't racist at all.

Given that English is his second language and he clearly doesn't know the words either, he probably had no idea it was racist, so is it really necessary for you to jump down his throat about it rather than just answer his question about the tune and then politely mention that the rest of the lyrics are racist so might not be the best song to sing?

There's absolutely no need for you to be so rude to a new poster for asking what's actually a perfectly innocent question if you don't completely twist his words.

The original post only talks about the melody - Kaneson03 isn't asking about the words.

It's the internet, never underestimate the urge for people to leap up and start preaching on the internet.
