I'm a bit surprised to find this on page 3 as I thought he was very good last night, particularly with losing Bentancur.

I'm also wondering if he actually plays better when on a yellow!?!??! 🤷‍♂️

Then he should be our best player because he's always on a yellow 😭

He was good I agree. He looked pretty leggy towards the end though, think we may need to find a way to rest him at the weekend, so he’s fresher for the Arsenal game.

He has to cover a lot of ground each game, plus being mentally switched on for all 90+ minutes.

Yeah it felt like as soon as Bentancur went off we did look much more open in midfield and his workload went back up to the usual very high amount. Bentancur in the side helps him out a lot more defensively than I feel Sarr does, his pressing is great but he doesn’t have good positional awareness like Rodrigo does.

He settled in the second half I thought with Bergvall doing a lot of his running for him - particularly going forward - so he was able to sit deeper and I think it benefited him playing a more limited role of just covering the back four as didn’t need to make the same recovery runs and as a result wasn’t caught out of position as much.

I thought he was absolutely brilliant last night. Gets sooooooo much stick from the fans but personally I dont feel you can fault his effort.

Excellent last night. I take back my previous comments on him.

If he can be that good consistently then we're on to something

Consistency is just his main problem. He was very good last night, just hope we see it more often.

He is strong and carries the ball well. His concentration was much better last night.

Exactly he does well at times but at his age if the consistency isn't there it will never be. I hope we get this version of him as much as possible but still need to replace in the summer. That would be win win as helps us this season and also will likely have good interest in the summer.

Even in a good performance, he dived in and lost a challenge in midfield at one point.

That's fine, but he did the classic jog back.

Bergvall burst his arse and got back to clear the danger.

This guy was doing his usual jog and wasn't in the picture, and that's why we need rid.

He makes poor decisions, but he compounds them through a lack of effort and desire.

He is a coaster, and has 1 good game in 5.

We have to sell ASAP to a West Ham or Everton

Yes he has great games like this, but he also has a lot more games with lapses in concentration and poor decision making.

Can't afford it in the long run, need an upgrade.

Performances like last night really do my head in with him because he has it in him. He was an absolute warrior.

Side note: the players are definitely determined to win this. They've all been locked in and up for it in every match in this cup since City. It's so clear to see.

Too good for Tamworth, not good enough for Arsenal.

If we want to progress and become a top five side again we can't have him as a starter.

He got a hospital pass with nowhere to go. I’m really interested to know the player who is consistently put into that position and never gives it away.

Rice? Rodri? Any quality 6. It's part of the job. He controls it further than I kick it
