Solomon all over again

*sigh*

Variation of the old children’s rhyme:

Solomon [Grundy],

Bought on a Monday,

Trained on Tuesday,

Played on Wednesday,

Injured on Thursday,

Played on Friday,

Injured on Saturday,

Sold on Sunday.

This is the end

Of Solomon [Grundy].

I’m not going to be holding my breath on that one.
Surely signing one of the calibre we would need as opposed to a signing for the future would be :
a. beyond us
b. unlikely due to "selling club" not wanting to sell in January
c. an unlikely but welcome "opportunity"

It's always a case of "we should sign a player in the next window that we failed to sign in the last one "

Loads of teams are suffering this season, we're not even close to being the worst.
Far far too much football. What the current day players will be like when they get into their 60s I shudder to think. New hips, new knees, new everything. Their bodies will be a mess.

Unsurprising given the surgery but the real concern is if he has caused some serious long term damage. I guess we have to hope Yang can adjust sooner then expected.
If we're pinning our hopes on Yang then our transfer policy really needs looking at.

If we want this system to work properly and actually win something, we need top quality wide forwards.

Prospects are great but by the time Moore and Yang develop into the players we all hope they'll be, we'll have other huge gaps in the squad that need filling, as players age or move on.

It's not just signing the right players, it's getting the right team together - buys and development - at the same time, and peaking at the same time.

Obviously that is super hard, but that's what it'll take to win something over the mega clubs. Or we get lucky in a cup, like United the last two seasons.

Yep, agreed. We need to develop youth at the same time as buying readymades. We can chew gum and walk. It’s not a binary choice, or certainly shouldn’t be.

I would hope we have a recall on Solomon for January, adds a body to replace Odobert and already knows the system requirements of Ange.

Pull Odobert from the Europa squad and promote Spence for much needed defensive cover

A Grade 3 tear followed by op is about 2 months of absence- so the experts say on the context of Saka.

How long has this Dude been out now?

FFS
Went in for surgery around 10th Nov from memory, so maybe back running and rehabbing early to mid Jan? PS I’m not a doctor🤒

Less than 2 months since surgery? So right within the parameters you are freaking out about.
