Not such good news on Wilson.

Postecoglou:

"No real time but it is significant. It's a rare occurrence so we will have to be conservative, You don't want to put a time frame on it."
He said it's a reoccurrence, not a rare occurrence.

It really is a massive shame because there's no one else who can seemingly operate on the right side to any great effect other than Johnson now, but I guess that's what happens when your incomings are so lopsided in that regard. Our wide players or players that can play out wide are Werner, Son, Moore, Richarlison, Odobert, Yang (coming in January and who we shouldn't expect much from initially) and Solomon (on loan), and they all prefer to operate from the left. Even Moore in the Europa League recently highlighted just how much of a difference playing on your predominant side can make.

I guess you could say that we had Kulusevski also, but prior to the season starting I think Ange knew he was going to be playing centrally in the future.

He said similar amount of time to last time, maybe a bit more.

He was out for 6 weeks before, so we're looking at 8 weeks this time. So probably return early new year, especially as they won't want to rush him back given it led to a reoccurrence this time.

Seems like ages since Son played on the right yet he played there a lot under Poch. I wonder why that is. He doesn't get so much space infield anymore. I know he's 2 footed but I think he's better on his right so going outside might suit him well. I think first choice is Son and Johnson at the moment but Johnson isn't doing enough. If only we had the best of both Werner and Johnson in one player which might turn out to be Odobert.

Johnson had a hot streak and I'm really happy for him that he was able to turn things around and show what he's capable of. Despite that I think I don't think we need someone just to simply challenge him, we still need someone ahead of him on that side IMO. I still think he's often quite comfortable doing little with the ball when he receives it. I do think he has turned himself into someone who can provide good quality depth on that side at the very least though.

I actually think Werner in general play makes better use of the ball, or at least tries more with it.

If he’s had an operation to repair his hamstring, then we won’t see him for months and being a winger who uses his pace and ability to twist and turn his full back I very much doubt he will ever be the player he could have been .

very worrying if this is the case , definitely a sessengon vibe .

let’s hope he’s just having his tonsils out 😀

I’m no doctor but this feels premature.
